Shotgun Snap Tip

Has anyone noticed the tip to when Frederick is gonna snap the ball when Romo is in shotgun? Romo will read the defense and go through all his checks, then he might lift his leg signaling he's ready for the snap, and call the snap count... but Frederick won't snap the ball till Brian Waters taps him on the side.

It's gotta be the easiest deciphered tell on the planet.

I can understand using that in certain situations, but why go through with the theatrics? Everyone knows we're not snapping the ball til after Waters taps Frederick.

And the OL is doing a pretty good job with pass protection, but that can't help letting the defense know when we're snapping it.

Wish Cowboyjoe had an account here so he could see this thread then alert the team on this tell and get it corrected.

Who knew........

I thought the dead give away was when there was one second on the play clock and Romo is frantically gyrating his leg up and down screaming hurry hurry.

No. That's not it. Romo is smart. Sometimes he will call the delay of game play instead

Or the fuck you you thought you had the count read but I'm calling timeout play

Bigger giveaway is when Romo takes forever with the audible calls and runs the clock down to 1 or 0

That reminds me of a post Mr. Po made in this thread almost right above yours.

I guess I should read entire thread before posting. I'll keep that in mind in the future forum police

There was one play in yesterday's game when we were in the red zone and the play clock was running down under 5 sec when we were getting to the LOS. Romo said something like "just go ahead," Waters immediately hit Frederick and the ball was snapped.

He did it a couple times...something like "OK Hurry!" and then Freddy snapped the ball.

I was wondering why this was happening as well.. It started almost immediately when Waters was named starter.
