Because Jones offers nothing as a receiver and while he is a decent kick returner, he'd just be hogging a spot better used for a young guy with upside.

Hawk sux and has for several seasons. Nobody talks about him bad because the Packers picked him, but he's one of the lousiest top-10 pick LB's there has been in quite some time.

But Hawk, not sure what's wrong with him. Complete player: tackles, passes defensed, interceptions and had 5 sacks in 2013. This is the kind of veteran LB player that Belichick makes certain is on his team. Teaches the young guys and stabilizes the whole defense.

Apparently, you weren't watching the games. Hawk has been on the decline for awhile now. Packers fans have been crying for his replacement.. Towards the end of this past season he was getting benched in certain packages, like the nickel and dime. Its no surprise he got released.
