So takes the ability of congress to trade stocks away? Congress. Who decides how much congress people get paid? Congress. Congress votes on all the rules that apply to them which is why it is so important for the people to pay attention and treat these people like employees regardless of party. Unfortunately, the voters are no more interested in winning for their party than doing what is best for the country. The convention of states may be the only choice we have to fix this. Congress is not going to do it to themselves.

Indeed. All the things that are absolute no brainers to do, Congress will never do.

2) Term limits
3) Congress being paid when the government is closed
4) End Mass Insider Stock Trading

They'll never pass all these common sense initiatives.

The Founders never anticipated people would make careers out of being in Congress or the Senate. It's about the only thing they missed on.
