All I know is, when Jerry trades for receivers... it usually works in our favor.

amirite?

terry glenn worked for a 6.

quincy morgan, joey galloway, roy williams not so much....

even signing free agent wr we have really screwed up going all the way back to anthony miller just not working out.

I've been critical of the front office over the last few seasons about the lack of direction, or or identity. We've been loaded with weapons on offense for years now, but there's been no real attempt to seriously address the weaknesses on defense or the oline. Newman had been poor for years, James, while serviceable, could have and should have been a part time player as early as 2010. Same with the offensive line. The year the new stadium was hosting the SB, all you heard was how it was possible Dallas could be in that game. Anyone with half a brain new that wasnt happening. The offensive line was terrible. Instead of replacing the stiffs, Jerry rolled the dice with garbage and sold it to anyone that was willing to buy his used car salesman act.

A move like this would make me feel like the organization understands the time is now. Desperation is what the organization has been lacking. The sense of urgency.

Its nice to see, if this rumor is true, that the team is going to do whatever possible to at least try and put the team in position to win now. Would I like to see that urgency in other areas of the roster? Sure, but I'll take this as a good sign going forward.

Jerry showed desperation and urgency when he traded for Roy Williams, right? :confused

First, I bet it will cost way more than a 4th. That just came from that fool Pitt writer basing it off the Holmes trade, but he was a degenerate headcase already facing suspension. Wallace has no such issues.

And even if he was cheap in terms of trade compensation, he's going to get a ton in salary. Why pour so much money into WR when we're already good there?

well we all know this isnt going to happen, its just fun to talk about today.....

I just think what ellis and broaddus talked about yesterday holds a lot of weight...if austin or dez are hurt who can step in and play the game efficiently right now...

I dont think they want a situation like last year at sf, arizona and against washington where one of the big two is hurt and the offense struggled.

I just think if your the cowboys or anyone else you have to at least check.

I just hate that thinking, because you can say that about tons of positions in today's NFL. We'd be way more screwed if Tyron Smith or Sean Lee or Jason Witten got hurt than if Dez or Miles did.

And you could've said this a year ago today, too. Then what happened... Some journeyman with a french name who wasn't even on the team yet because a near-star.

yeah I agree with that especially since imo witten and the backs will catch a ton of balls this year.....plus whatever we get from phillips....

its a wr driven league though....the packers won a superbowl with a shaky line, great group of wr and turnover creating defense....

again, I dont think anything is going to come of this and I do think we end up with a vet at the end of camp that knows the offense somewhat.......

still fun to talk about..

Im pretty much in agreement. I don't trade for anything other than a top flight interior lineman, or stud safety at this point in the game.

lol You got me on the RW trade, but I was trying to stress the lack of urgency the last two years in particular. The "Romo/Cowboys storyline" of not getting it done was cute for a few years, but now it's crunch time. Time to put all your eggs in the basket and make a run.

putting our eggs in one basket and going was the idea behind 2010, that is why wade was kept and bryant drafted.......etc...

Last year and this year were about rebuilding the team around the core guys.....we will find out in a few weeks if this years draft is good and if so we have another good core group after a very good free agent group....yes I think livings was a good signing and will workout.

Lol oooooo don't mention any ol and the word good here.

well i remember 06 and detroit not wanting kosier and it turning into because kosier sucked and he didnt have a position so he had to play all over the line...

john clayton wrote an article about how dallas blew it signing kosier...

a year later it was a brilliant move having a guard of his caliber signed for 5 million a year for 3 years....

I hope livings is as good as kosier was....I think he along with carr, vickers, connor are going to be good.

that is a camp question.

I think they want mack to get healthy and win the job outright or kowalski to get back and win the job.....

but I have a feeling neither will be ready and it will be leary, arkin, nagy or mcquistan.

I think mack is a starter at guard or center though by october.

i searched mike wallace on twitter and its kind of funny seeing all the initial reaction and the usual media rushing to get something and being wrong...

all those bloggers and pft were wrong saying he had a deal 3 days ago....

I saw someone say he will be traded to kc for bowe because of the haley connection.....it was my understanding haley disliked bowe and vice versa....

btw, haley and tomlin screaming at everyone all the time must be awesome to be around..
