It’s looking bad on the Pickens contract front. The guy is a great player but I just don’t see how we are going to be able to keep him. Paying two number one receivers just doesn’t seem to be realistic. Especially with all our needs on defense. His agent is already advising him not to play on the franchise tag. This whole thing is a train wreck in the making. GP is still GP. He was on his best behavior last season but that leopard hasn’t changed his spots. I wonder what we could get for him in a trade. I would love to get some more draft picks for this years draft but probably not going to happen. I think we could find a serviceable number 2 receiver without breaking the bank and our offense will be just fine. This would allow resources to really acquire more talent on our defense. What are your thoughts?
Doesnt seem like they have any interest in trading him and according to Spawn, not one team has called with any interest or even a lowball offer. My guess is the teams that most need a WR want to see how the draft plays out (or at least starts to play out) first.

If they were smart, it would be better for them to trade Pickens for a 1st NEXT year anyway. Maybe they get a mid rd pick this yr and the other team's 1st in 2027 (which appears to be a deeper and more talented draft, more blue chip players too)

I agree with your take. It’s just too bad that we have a moron for GM who moves slowly if at all on getting key players signed early. I think they recognize that GP will be a problem after signing and certainly they would have a hard time paying more than CeeDee . in addition, due to bad cap management, we just don’t have the room. I won’t deny that GP is a very talented receiver. If we were to get a first round pick for him in a trade I think you have to strongly consider it. I like your idea of a 2027 1st rounder. That would position us well to keep accumulating young Lessa expensive talent. I think we would be just fine on offense without GP. Defense still remains the elephant in the room!

I am predicting we will draft at least one offensive lineman … maybe two with our later picks. Need to find someone to develop to replace Hoffman. Sounds like there are a few out there that due to injury may fall. I would have no problem drafting for a redshirt year. I am always happy to draft linemen on both sides of the ball as I believe that is where games are won or lost.

They have definitely been paying attention to day three OL's/priority UDFAs (interior and T)
