University of North Carolina football general manager Michael Lombardi, the highest-paid general manager in college football, resigned Thursday after a tumultuous tenure in Chapel Hill working alongside Bill Belichick, the university said.

Lawyers investigating UNC football questioned people about allegations involving assistant Steve Belichick and, separately, about a possible sexual relationship between at least one employee and at least one player, people familiar with the probe tell WRAL. GM Michael Lombardi resigned Thursday.

This is a total clusterfuck now.

The NCAA and all these conferences have to take a stand, or college football is over. Just rename it a "minor league" for the NFL because that's all it is now.

They have completely ruined this sport.
