I hate to be a Monday Morning Quarterback in these situations. It's just a very tragic situation. Having said that, I would assume Charlie's security detail had retired Secret Service agents. I would imagine they'd be more concerned with someone getting up close and personal since he allowed so many people to get so close but gosh darn it.....a trained security professional is going to scan the rooftops or they should. But keep in mind they didn't do it for Trump in Butler either. I just think it was a huge failure on the security side by Charlie's own team.

This was my point from Day One. This is a security failure. It's completely irresponsible. And nothing has been said about that.

I feel you, I have no experience in security but a few thousand in drones seems like a no brainer to have them constantly hovering over all roof tops considered to be good places to shoot from

what am I missing?

Can drones not stay in the air very long? Too noisy? Expensive?

Kills me to think about how just that one investment which could be used at every event could have prevented this from happening

Since Kirk is a private citizen and held no office, security would be his responsibility. I don't know the finances of his security but I assume there is a cost to fly drones which takes more people and technology that could get expensive. Also, we don't know if he was aware of any credible threats to his life. I suspect his security detail just never imagines Charlie, as a normal citizen, would be assassinate like that. Sometimes that is how we learn. It's like 9/11. Security was lax enough to let it happen. It was only afterwards that we put in security procedures to prevent it from happening again.

I am not a fan of Alex Jones either, but what happened to him is unAmerican. No way should they have allowed him to be sued by the Sandy Hook parents. What he said was stupid, and definitely false but to allow a suit against him because he said dumb stuff? Jones called the Sandy Hook shooting a hoax which offended the parents. A jury awarded them $1.5 billion! A judge let that award stand and ordered the liquidation of his assets including his media company.

The parents of the dead kids claim after he made that comment they were harassed by Jones' followers, and on idiot even urinated on the grave of their murdered child. This is all horrible but what one individual, or several individuals do it of the own volition and not the responsibility of Alex Jones. After all, these were adults harassing the parents. How is Jones responsible for their behavior? He never told them to do anything to the parents.

Again, the same people who went after Alex Jones said nothing when idiots called 9/11 a hoax. Or Trump's attempted assassination staged. The said nothing when Maxine Waters told Democrats to get in the faces of Trump officials. And more recently, defended Jimmy Kimmel and the statements he made about the Charlie Kirk assassin.

The Alex Jones lawsuit, as well as the lawsuit against Remington Arms, are just two more examples of the double standard that is applied to conservatives but not Democrats. We have tolerated this far too long and is one reason why I can never unite with Democrats against anything. F them. They don't mean it anyway and will abuse us again if they get in control.

If I can find the video, I'll post but Charlie was well aware of threats to his life and told people they wanted him dead
