One of the law enforcement peeps being interviewed the other night said its highly likely the weapon is not traceable and was likely purchased via a gun show or even from a 3rd party entirely. They said the gun itself was quite old and was probably shipped back into the country from outside.

I am leaving out some of the major details he got into as to the why, but the bottom line is he didnt think they'd likely be able to trace it.

Listen to this and the conversation between the parents and Robinson. As a father, it's heart-wrenching. The mother knew from the released photos that it was her son. The father called the son to inquire where he was and asked the boy to send him a picture of the rifle.....by all accounts, the parents did the right thing. Horrible tragedy all the way around.

You beat me to it dbair.....and as for that transcript, it makes me go hmmmmm. It's not how these young people communicate. Now I will say that my kids communicate with me "normally." I would correct them when they texted at a young age. But that was me. I can see Robinson might have a more proper grammar but both he and his lover? Some real questions here.
