This team is a total joke because of one man, one family, who refuse to do what they do with every other business they own, which is own it and get the fuck out of the way.

Troy Aikman's contract expires in February. Hire him as GM. Put it in his contract that he has full and complete authority (or he won't take the job). Let Troy hire the coach (even if he hires back Garrett. Garrett got boned several times by Jerry). Troy would likely bring Jimmy back as a consultant.

It WON'T HAPPEN!!!

It could if Cowboy fans grew some balls and stopped going to the games!

Good thing, Daks stats are still great, he will make the Cowboy's ring of honor, right Dooms?
Yeah, he will need a new contract soon.I just looked at Spotrac. Dak has made $337,886,652 so far, and that obviously does not include endorsement money.

He looks defeated, he knows he's done!
When he was hired I was hopeful. I based it all on my memories of Marty. Maybe I saw too many highlights only of Marty. But Marty struck me as hard-nosed, tough, emotional, and got pissed.

His son wants to sing kumbaya.

I know the CBA prevents a lot, but let's get creative. Don't feed them on the plane after a loss. require that they all dress the same to go to the airport.

IDK, but Wade Phillips ran Camp Alcatraz compared to Schotty and his, "we all went out to dinner", "These were hard conversations, we cried when we cut players".

Say what you want about Garrett, but Garrett would at least stand up at a lecturn when doing a press conference, to at least try to look authoritative. Schotty just sits in a chair, like he is old, like Wade was or Parcells was, and there is little emotion in his voice. His arms are folded.

This wont matter, half the stadium (or more) is normally other team's fans anyway.

For the longest time I wondered why Jerry made the new place so damn big to begin with, Texas Stadium was about the right size and there were years they couldn't even fill that place up (including 89 and 90 when Jones first bought the team). Then it occurred to me, Jones maybe made it as large as he did with the intent that the place would always have plenty of fans from OTHER teams, which would help negate the appearance that "nobody was coming to the games" when they were bad.

Corporate buys almost all the seats now anyway and the fans they send arnt really "fans" at all. It's people just glad to take advantage of freebies and have something to occupy a Sunday afternoon or evening with, a social event.

Couldn't run the ball...again (15-48). Until we can run the ball often and consistently, opposing teams will just sit back in soft zones and wait for Dak to make mistakes.
I didnt really see them playing much soft zone last night. They seemed to realize the Cowboys would keep all their routes outside (one online commentator said Pickens ran 3 unique routes the entire game and most of those were from the same line position). Lamb wasnt moved around much either. They almost completely ignored the middle of the field(2nd straight game) for some unknown reason.

It was a horrendous game plan and the adjustments were non existent. Prescott was awful in general and for as much credit as he has gotten over the years of "getting the Cowboys out of bad plays" at the LOS, the last two games he has done NONE of that.

Jerry should have never done the 2024 extension, other than the Jimmy thing it's the worst decision Jones has made as owner/GM IMO.

They had the perfect opportunity to do a complete rebuild. Fire the Fat Man and go get the best staff possible, and find a true franchise altering QB to lead the team.

He didnt do it.

What are the odds, do you think, that Pettine takes over as interim head coach?
Jones won't do it. He'll convince himself that "we are right there" in the thick of the playoff hunt, no matter how any shitpile efforts they put together.

Dont worry guys and gals, he's just gonna go back to work.
Schitty's response to how the team bounces back is the same old script: 'Go back to work. That’s what we’re going to do. Our guys are going to respond. It’s not the effort. It’s execution.'

Let’s be real. Claiming 'it's not the effort' is a complete denial of what everyone can see on the field. This absolutely is an effort issue. What makes it even worse is the timeline. The Cowboys started training camp back on July 29. Schitty had exactly 81 days from the first whistle of camp until yesterday's game to get this team ready, install the playbook, and fix these exact issues.

If the team is still failing to execute after nearly three months of preparation, that falls squarely on the coaching. You can't shield the players by claiming the effort is there when the product on the field shows a complete lack of urgency and discipline. The 'go back to work' excuse wears thin when you've already had 81 days of work resulting in this. I hope Jerry fires you, and soon.
