They literally couldnt find anybody that wanted this job.

It’s nice to see the the Cowboys front office didn’t just do what they have always done when it comes to hiring a DC. Which is hire a retread past HC who failed and lost his job.

It is encouraging that they actually made a legit effort to find a new up and coming DC this time around.

Hopefully they give him what he needs in free agency and the draft to build the defense the way he wants/needs.

Maybe, just maybe, by doing things differently this time around we may actually see some different results.

They've stepped aside and are letting the chef choose his kitchen help and servers. Letting him have at least some say on the ingredients too. I agree it's encouraging.

Update- Morris got the DC job with Whiners. Mike LaFleur got the HC job in Arizona.

Simply by the fact that they have approached this round of coaching hires in a completely different way than they ever have with Jerry at the helm.

Simply by the fact that they have approached this round of coaching hires in a completely different way than they ever have with Jerry at the helm.

Yep, am excited about how they've assembled the staff.

It may not work, maybe the defense still won't be good. But the process itself and the decision making was sound on that side of the ball. Schottenheimer got his pick of offensive staffers last yr and the results were positive. Hopefully the same happens on defense.

We need to get Parker and his def coaches some talent now, but even if they just had a bunch of average guys on defense I think we may see better results than the past couple of seasons for sure.
