And which it already is. Which was my point.
You don't know that.

Again, we have had assistant coaches that have been at the top of the league in terms of pay over the time Jerry has owned the team. This idea that Jerry won't pay anything is false. I think many people believed blowhard Rex Ryan when he spouted off after we hired Zimmer, but Zimmer ended up getting a fairly high coordinator salary.

Jimmy was one of the top paid HC's, so was Switzer. Parcells was the 2nd highest paid when we hired im. Garrett and McCarthy were in the middle of the pack. According to AI the "average" NFL HC salary currently is between 3-8 million per yr, and Schottenheimer is said to be at 4.5. I do know Chan Gailey was lowly paid but there was no demand for him then, Campo was probably not anywhere near the higher end for HC pay either. I also remember Terry Donahue complaining about pay when the deal for him fell through, but his deciding factor then wasn't the money it was the control, which is how we ended up with Gailey. (it's well documented now but wasn't at the time, Jones actually approached Joe Gibbs about taking the job then and was going to make him the highest paid coach, but Gibbs decided to stay retired)

Numerous assistant coaches have been the top paid or near the top paid in this time span. Joe Avezzano was, Garrett was when he was hired as OC, Hudson Houck (both times). Zampese was the top paid coordinator when Jimmy hired him (before he left), Quinn was pretty highly paid. Bill Callahan was one of the top paid OL coaches when we hired him. (he may or may not have had the OC title too but he did not call plays when we brought him on the first yr). Sean Payton was pretty highly paid and then got a raise when he turned down the Raiders HC job.

If they wanted someone like Brian Flores and it came down to "money" then Jones has shown he'll pay for it for proven people.
