For our team to make the playoffs we will have to win every game the rest of the season. I just don’t see it. There is zero margin for error
10-6-1 would definitely qualify for the playoffs imo. Small chance 9-7-1 does too. So there is still margin for error, but not much. Anyway, I'm not eating the playoffs cheese until I've seen us win 2 games in a row.

It was the Raiders....you've seen this before right? Where we beat up on bad teams and shit the bed with good ones?
Yeah I've seen us beat up bad teams, but I've also not seen us dominate at the level QW inside for quite some time either. He looks damn good.

He certainly is going to see an uptick in competition the next several weeks so we shall see, but game one was outstanding. He had more sacks, QB shits and pressures in this game than he did in any game for the Jets this year.

I am happy we won the game last night . Pickens and Williams are both bonafide bad asses! I hope there is some way to keep Pickens. Going to be tough because of the brilliant cap maneuvering of the Jeruh. Glad to see Revel and Overshown out there. Both players will help us. Flournoy needs more playing time. Williams and Davis were Nice one two punch. What is troubling about this season up until last night has been our weak defense. Eberflus is still Eberflus. He is by far the worst defensive coordinator in the entire league. Not only are we facing a run against some very strong teams but we still have Eberflus to contend with. I know the defense played well last night. I pray that I am wrong and will admit that I am wrong if there is a 180 degree turnaround. The positive is that we do have players returning to maybe get this turned around. Going to be very tough at 4-5-1 to climb out of this hole. It is not impossible but going to be tough. Not sure this team will play consistently enough to go on a winning run. Dak is still Dak with his all world regular season stats who just can’t deliver when you need him most. Good QB that lacks the ability/talent to raise his level of play against better teams when it counts. The Jerruh factor still infects this organization in a negative way. I still believe our team would be much better with a better proven coaching staff. Someone like a Sean Payton would have this team humming but the Jerruh just won’t have it because of the control factor. We do have the individual players to compete with other playoff teams in my opinion. I know we have some weak spots but overall we should be better than 4-5-1 at this point in the season. For our team to make the playoffs we will have to win every game the rest of the season. I just don’t see it. There is zero margin for error and there is nothing to indicate that this team is anything better than 500. On a different note I will defend Scots “ book it” take on the game. He along with every Cowboys fan have thirty years of disappointment to fuel a healthy dose of skepticism. I believed Geno Smith was going to “go off” on us last night. I was wrong but my skepticism remains strong. All of us on this DC universe site are pretty educated/ knowledgeable about our Cowboys. Much more so than the average Cowboys fan. We know the players by position, we know the coaches by position and for the most part stay “in tune”’with our team. I like this site because there iare always strong opinions grounded in sound educated analysis. We all have one thing in common in that we love the Cowboys and desperately want them to win. This next game against the Iggles will tell us a lot about our chances moving forward . Every game moving forward is a must win game. For now we can all glow in the aftermath of a nice win. I hope the glow remains after our game against the Iggles. Go Cowboys!
Good post Amigo.

I wouldn't bother with defending Scot though, he lives in California.

We'll see. Pickens has been so good they really need to keep him. Restructuring Clark makes sense to lower his cap number. Extending Q Williams is a must and will also lower his cap number. They can certainly restructure a number of guys to create a ton of space.

The Prescott deal will be interesting. His deal carries a cap hit of 74 million next yr.

Q Williams was definitely as advertised, dude completely dominated the game when he was in there.

First game. 4 tackles, one TFL, 1nd and 1/2 sacks, 5 QB knockdowns, 7 total QB pressures.

I get it...but I'm still not sold. I've seen this before where we beat up on bad teams and shit the bed against good ones. Hell, this season we've been beaten up by bad teams too. We've got a tough schedule coming up so we'll see soon enough.

I think Pickens is a must and I just don't have a ton of confidence in Lamb. Pickens is smooth and just gets open and catches almost everything in his radius. He's a good fit for Dak.......

Lamb will be fine, he's one of the best in the league.

As usual, refs missed lots of stuff against our opponent. I don't think the Raiders overmatched OL had a single holding call all night. Q Williams got a sack despite being in a choke hold around his neck on one play. Then there's this gem. Everyone was focused on CeeDee's drop, but two Raiders literally take George Pickens out and there's no call. This is an easy illegal contact call in the endzone and should have given us a first and goal.

Clark and Odiggy were much more effective players last night. Some was Raiders OL, most was because of 92.
