So after first saying they weren't worried about Tyron Smith playing Sunday, now McCarthy says that's the biggest concern for the game, whether he can play or not.

After what we saw vs the Rams, I was already worried we were going to shit the bed Sunday and go 0-2, but with Collins already out if T Smith also misses, this could be one really fucking ugly loss.

49ers TE George Kittle (knee) is out for Week 2 against the Jets.
Kittle didn't practice all week after barely avoiding a serious knee injury in Week 1 against Arizona. Head coach Kyle Shanahan insinuated Kittle's injury might be worse than the public knew, even though the tight end didn't suffer any setbacks this week. “If it was a normal person, we probably would have ruled him out earlier in the week," Shanahan said. Jordan Reed, after drawing praise from coaches and beat writers throughout August, will likely step into the starting role this week against the Jets. Reed caught two passes for 12 yards last week while playing 16 percent of the 49ers' snaps. In an offense without many viable pass catchers, Reed could come into Week 2 with a surprisingly high floor.

Other offensive playmakers ruled out for this week include AJ Brown, Phillip Lindsay, Kenny Golladay, Jack Doyle and Jamison Crowder, with several more questionable to doubtful.

Anthony Brown has been moved to IR and OT Eric Smith has been activated from the practice squad
