Matt Patricia's defense is excellent so far.
I actually wasnt overly impressed with it. They didnt have much pass rush at all and I didnt see any of Belichick's customary exotic blitzes or coverages.

I've never thought he was a good coach, just a product of all of Hoodie's success.

Thought it was a mediocre game between two fairly mediocre teams. Both lost tons to the last couple of NFL Drafts and that has to take a toll. Ultimately I don't think either is a threat to win a title this year.

How poor Manning looked should be alarming to all those to have been on his jock and especially Longhorn nation. Their own fans crucified Sarkisian for two years to play Manning over Ewers and yesterday put that idiocy to bed for good.

Like Shedeur, he has a famous last name. That said, it's too early to say he's overrated. He certainly has elite arm strength.
He's definitely overrated right now. All this talk about declaring early and #1 overall pick stuff was way too premature.

Yesterday he looked like a middle round pick, at best. I was surprised at how poor he was at passing the ball, considering he's been around NFL QB's his entire life and should probably have as good of throwing mechanics and accuracy as one could get.

Maybe it was just nerves for his his first big start and having to open on the road at OSU isnt exactly easy, but he didn't face much pressure at all and still looked mediocre.

Texas has the ultimate cakewalk schedule the next 3 weeks for him to iron things out, but then they have to play the SEC guys

You're being way too generous. He didn't look like a mid round pick and if his name wasn't Manning he'd be looked at as an UFA. His mechanics were so bad that I don't think it gets fixed in 2 years. He was shockingly bad.

Leaving this open in Cowboys area for today's games (Notre Dame Miami tonight, Va Tech this afternoon. Tomorrow night Hoodie debut.

RB Jeremiyah Love def someone for us to keep an eye on tonight and throughout year. 6'0, 215, game breaking speed and excellent balance.

Carson Beck will be at QB for Miami.

Miami/Notre Dame just doesnt have the same thrill it did back in the day with all their epic battles like Catholics vs Convicts, etc

Am I just getting old and jaded or what? Why does it feel so different?

To me it's because they're just not natty contenders anymore. Used to be, they both were and it made their games all-important.

ND touchdown there initially exactly mirrored Bob Griese's 29 yard sack in SB 6. Looked it up on YouTube and got a belly laugh! Just click on the YouTube link it doesn't allow embeds.

Is that Michael Irvin on the U sideline getting in the ear of the TD scorers? Sure as heck looks like.

I also think there were a lot of teams we loved to hate which amped up the rivalry and meaning to the games

#11 Miami is just exactly fine. He's gone be a winning NFL QB. All the tools, plenty of brain.
