The 2018 Debacle as I see it

Or even appear in one. The OP is predicting that it WILL be. It's a play off of my thread from early in preseason last year, "The 2017 Dallas Debacle as I see it" and it was amazingly accurate.

It’s time to move on from Dez

Something we've pointed out here, many times over the last few years. He's a one-trick pony.

My apathy is at an all-time high

Everyone knows most fans won't. You're arguing against shit that's never been said. A lot of people know too, that Jerry has designed his business model to insulate him from any "uprising." How he did that and how it works is covered here very well. Nobody's ever said anything like this either...

5 things we learned from Cowboys coach Jason Garrett at the NFL owners meetings

You're completely incorrect. You need to educate yourself by reading around, a lot. No shit, no one said otherwise. BUT, the Dallas sports media USED to be a pretty hard bunch, and wouldn't even think about promo pieces like this in the middle of 20 years of mediocre crap. They USED to be...

My apathy is at an all-time high

Yep it's the WWE! Because many are convinced it's going to take at least one 1-15 campaign to get Jerry to finally clean house. Many are convinced there will be no actual improvement and certainly no real success, until that happens. Get it now? The more jaded ones are convinced there will be...

5 things we learned from Cowboys coach Jason Garrett at the NFL owners meetings

I can already see I'm going to have to add one H to the beginning of your username.

Jerry Jones steps down and hires Jimmy Johnson as the new GM

It's hilarious to me to see the traffic data, this thread is getting found by google searchers more than any we've had in a long time. People googling up "Jerry Jones retires" and "Jerry Jones fires himself." Almost like there's millions of people out there ready for this to happen.

It’s time to move on from Dez

That was before it was pointed out to you his career passer rating sits at #8 all time. Except today, they wouldn't be allowed to be nearly as violent. A lot more common to see the bigger, faster, stronger ones today. I am talking about "on average" and there's no way to rationally dispute that.

It’s time to move on from Dez

He had NO success, by Roger Staubach's definition of it. I didn't attribute his stats to three years as a understudy. It was quite clear in the context of what you asked, "what does that make Dak" and the answer is, at least three years less experienced in the pro game. Yes he has done very...

It’s time to move on from Dez

We long established here in another thread, that ROMO wasted Romo's career. Are we still pretending Romo didn't shit the bed in all-too critical times, season-ending times? C'mon now. This is the old chestnut: poor ole victim Tony, career "wasted" through NO fault of his own. Mother fucker was...

It’s time to move on from Dez

That's subjective. By all accounts, today's NFL athletes are bigger, faster and stronger than their counterparts even as little as 15 years back. COACHING became paramount. Not talent. The talent is spread around pretty evenly.

It’s time to move on from Dez

The only way it's contradictory is when you misrepresent it. I never said anything about other QB's who sat on the bench being successful. That's your deflection. By the way I also have never said shit about Zeke's suspension affecting Dak. I've said the running game was still servicable...

It’s time to move on from Dez

ALL talent is spread out. When teams focus more resources on defense, they typically have a better defense. And vice-versa. There's no question by anyone anywhere, that today's rules greatly favor the passing game. They are purposely made, to favor the passing game. It's intentional and not...

It’s time to move on from Dez

Of course not, and nobody thinks that. Dez only gets some blame when he leads the league in drops, and 80 percent of Dak's picks were on balls targeted to him. Nobody's blaming Dez 100 percent. Failing to protect the QB is also a big reason when you get negative results. It says Dak didn't have...

I wasn't blaming Romo for lackalombardi. I've always blamed Jerruh for that.

We just did that last week or so ago.

It’s time to move on from Dez

In an era where this was RARE. This is why it is silly to compare them to Romo in any way. They did it in a time where you could actually hit the quarterback and rough-up the receivers. Romo did it in a era where the QB and receivers are heavily protected. It's like comparing flag football with...

    Cowboys and free agency

Because they don't have any money to sign their draft picks this year. I'm okay with cutting Dez after June 1. He's not the guy we need for the chemistry aspect. He's not the "third triplet" - that guy isn't found yet. Hopefully we get him via this draft. I'm not 100 percent sure Jerruh has the...

    Cowboys and free agency

A difference which makes no difference, is no difference. Cutting him June 2 STILL saves a LOT more than the 16 million he would make if he stays. I stand corrected. You get the one year of dead money after the cut year. It's still well worth it just to cut out the cancer.
