Punter Chris Kluwe: I was an NFL player until I was fired by 2 cowards and a bigot

Agree completely. The thing I don't agree with (and I debated with someone on here, I think) is if a church does something like rents out their facilities to the general public, but decides they won't rent to gays (or blacks or Asians or Catholics or whatever)

Punter Chris Kluwe: I was an NFL player until I was fired by 2 cowards and a bigot

Read my post, Jon. I didn't say that. I'm sure there are pro-gay churches out there. I know there are many that are against. As far as I'm concerned, a church can choose to marry whomever they want. There isn't anything that prevents homosexuals from starting their own church to perform...

The Phil Robertson thing was just a publicity ploy, pep. Worked like a charm.

Punter Chris Kluwe: I was an NFL player until I was fired by 2 cowards and a bigot

And Kluwe kind of comes off a little whiny in this whole thing. Appreciate him being outspoken on human rights, but he's a middle of the pack punter who happens to be 32 years old. Financially, it makes sense for a team to get younger/cheaper at a position like punter.

Punter Chris Kluwe: I was an NFL player until I was fired by 2 cowards and a bigot

Make the legal part a civil ceremony (or the paperwork part in most cases) and make "marriage" be a religious event. Then, legally, gays have the same rights as heterosexuals. As far as the religious aspect, that is up to the church. I'm sure there are churches that will perform the...

This isn't really 'its own thread worthy', but whatever....

This almost feels like a game where they realize they don't have Romo and put together a capable offensive game plan and not some mish mashed pile of garbage like they usually do.

Engel: Firing Garrett won't fix what haunts Cowboys

Yes, Garrett sucks, but until Jerry changes, the coach is handicapped anyway.

    Offseason Plan

Current system is probably here to stay unless the owners feel like their piece of the pie isn't big enough, pretend they are losing money and squeeze more from the players. Last deal was a sweetheart deal for the owners. They made out like bandits. I'm sure they have zero incentive to change it.

Administration just making it up as they go. Law? What law?

That's why you shouldn't waste your time with liberal arts degrees. Stick to science and math. You'll get a job and it is pretty hard to politicize it. Research and learn that other stuff on your own.

    Offseason Plan

Probably never unless you change the CBA. All the signing bonus money accelerates against the cap of the team trading the player. Signing bonuses are the only way to get cap friendly long term deals.

    Offseason Plan

I don't want Garrett back, but I think it happens. Honestly, if it were me, I'd do some pretty dramatic things to get cap healthy this year and use it to rebuild. I just don't think there is a coach out there that Jerry would hire that could succeed in this environment. Jerry just likes...

I don't think very much. Getting a long term deal done for Tyron Smith is important so he doesn't play under that one year option

I think Costa only makes like $1.5 million, but you get all of that as savings if you cut him. Durant is something like 1.25 million in savings.

    Offseason Plan

He's really the key to your long term cap stability. You can cut him and save money on the cap this year. I'd try to trade him for something although I just don't know if anyone would bite. You could also try a salary reduction a la Doug Free too. If you rid yourself of Ware, you're even...

    Offseason Plan

I'm in no way advocating Britt as a starter. However, as you can see, this team has no money. So, you need to find veterans that will be cheap. Britt will only be 26 to start the season and has shown flashes. Seems like a good type to bring in for depth on a "show me" type deal. But, yes...

Administration just making it up as they go. Law? What law?

I think there is a theory is some circles that academia is brainwashing our youth with a liberal agenda. I'd agree much of academia is probably liberal leaning. Of course, you have conservatives trying to change text books to fit their view of the world as well and people trying to inject...

    Offseason Plan

Let's assume some worst case scenarios: 1. Garrett returns 2. Jerry gives the team a pass due to injury and brings back this same basic core 3. Kiffin gets a pass 4. Callahan is this year's fall guy (not necessarily a bad thing, but someone has to be the sacrificial lamb) The team will be...
