Cowboys to see familiarity in Chargers

The Chargers first team offense looked good, so this will be a really good test for the defense. I expect Rivers to put up some yards while he is in the game because of the secondary injuries, but I'd like to see a couple of 3 and outs to feel better about where this D is at.

Cowboys' McGee being groomed as Romo's backup

They should draft a developmental QB every year...it is worth it for the most important position on the team. Packers did it for year and now you have the Pats with a guy like Ryan Mallet looking good behind Brady...he either gives them depth or a big trade chip in a couple years.

Babe laufenberg "it's a no brainer on costa at center"

Yes I am if we sign a legit vet WR.

Babe laufenberg "it's a no brainer on costa at center"

Maybe he turns out to be a player, but time on the PS will help. Is he a good ST guy? I mean that 5th WR needs to cover kicks, particularly with Hurd gone now.

Babe laufenberg "it's a no brainer on costa at center"

Sure, give the young kids a shot, but if you can add a vet WR on the cheap you do it. Radway is nice and all, but he shoudl be on the PS, not the active roster.

Babe laufenberg "it's a no brainer on costa at center"

Think of it this way...if Austin or Bryant get hurt, then Ogletree or Harris is starting. I am not comfortable with that.

Babe laufenberg "it's a no brainer on costa at center"

I don't think there is any way Gurode moves to G. Costa may end up starting at LG, but Gurode is not going to move there. I am curious as to who the 3rd WR is they are talking about. Really not much left out there. I do like the upside of the younger WRs, but I'd wave bye bye to Ogletree...

What are our options at right guard?

I think he is leaning towards guys who can move and can get out on screens, Free and Smith fit that mold. That may be why Davis does not come back, but then I don't remember Holland ever being a mobile guy.

What are our options at right guard?

While it is true a good QB can cover for a poor line, the bigger issues, for quite some time, has been the run blocking. This has been a terrible run blocking team for awhile. Waters can help that...and Davis actually played well down the stretch.

    Quick Stephen Jones interview

Not a big fan of two rookies behind Jones, not sure what is wrong with Choice anyways, he's a solid RB.

I know that the Eagles are assembling a "dream team"....

OT is debateable...I like the longterm projection, but they have Andrews and just signed Ryan Harris. Overall I think there is a very good chance we can win this division. Many will point at some complacency and continuity, but I think the fresh start under Garrett and Ryan will pay huge...

Rob Ryan's words are a good thing

I do like that he is not afraid to run his mouth some, but pointing out Hatcher as a bully is sketchy.

Scout's Eye, Day 5: Teaching Tyron Smith

Right, I listed all the lineman. The team carried 7 last year.

Scout's Eye, Day 5: Teaching Tyron Smith

I would too, but considering the team just signed 3 DEs I highly doubt he is on the radar anymore.

Stephen Jones says Cowboys will sign two safeties

Elam seems like a given...his ties to Ryan seem to make him a lock for Dallas. Goldson could cost, but he is young, so it might be a good investment, although Pool is the same age and should cost less.

Scout's Eye, Day 5: Teaching Tyron Smith

7, so if that number holds up he could hang around. Ratliff Igor Spears Brent Coleman Hatcher Lissemore I could see only 6 though, particularly if 2 FBs are kept.

Gregg signed with KC and would have been a solid add.

Scout's Eye, Day 5: Teaching Tyron Smith

Lissemore needs to do something as well, seems like the odd man out though. I did read some stuff where he knocked down some balls at the LOS, so that is a good thing. The numbers though, they do not look good for him.
