How mediocre will Jason Garrett be next year?

DCU is a "safe place" / refuge for people who don't drink the Kool-Aid. That's what I like about this place. Reasonable people are going to see positives and negatives. It is nice to be able to talk about some of those negatives without being hooted down by a brigade of close-minded blind...

I think Midswat was typing with tongue in cheek.

How mediocre will Jason Garrett be next year?

I bet so. That's exactly how several DCU regulars became DCU regulars. :Outtahere

How mediocre will Jason Garrett be next year?

Some very smart people are not great at making immediate, on-the-spot decisions. Game day coaches must make immediate, on-the-spot decisions. Just because Garrett is very smart does not mean that he'll make a great game day coach. I hope he improves, because if he doesn't, he won't be good...

Opps. Looks like we were thinking the same way.

Will Emmitt's Rushing Record Last FOREVER?!

The durability of Emmitt's record depends on future rules changes. No further rules changes and the record is safe. But if the game becomes more run-friendly by rule (e.g., outlawing common forms of tackling, etc.), sure, the record could get shattered.

Warren Sapp: 'I like what I see' from Cowboys, but 'they're not a playoff team'

Nothing wrong with being optimistic, but this is a challenging situation -- Two new faces (both with mediocre pasts), two others switching sides, and the only holdover position from last year is last year's weakest link. At best, the OL is a work in progress.

Ellis: Half Of 2011 Rookie Class Was Undrafted

I really like Garrett's philosophy here (in the above quote). In fact, I like just about everything that Garrett has had to say about the draft and how one should go about building a team. Garrett is having a good offseason. I hope he gets better as a gameday coach.

Warren Sapp: 'I like what I see' from Cowboys, but 'they're not a playoff team'

I'd agree with "better," but not "considerably better." IMO, the Cowboys offense isn't any better and is at significant risk of taking a step back. Robinson was an important part of last year and he's gone (too expensive to re-sign). Just because different spare parts are being thrown at the...

Warren Sapp: 'I like what I see' from Cowboys, but 'they're not a playoff team'

As disappointing as the Cowboys were last year, they were only a play away from making the playoffs (a single play in any one of several close losses). I do think that the Cowboys would have done better to address the OL in a more serious, aggressive way. I'm not convinced that the Cowboys...

    Rookies have to earn star

Rookies wear stars on their helmets during preseason games, right? So apparently rookies earn stars for practice. As "traditions" go, this one is pretty lame.

Broaddus Looks At Six Undrafted Free Agents

Very true. Here's some rather pathetic highlights for Hakim. He looks very fast and shorter than 5-11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sir5GjOeD5A

Broaddus Looks At Six Undrafted Free Agents

Saalim Hakim's description reads unrealistically positive. Nothing wrong with focusing on how FA players play their positions, but we all know that their special teams play will have much to do with who does and doesn't make the team.

    Buc's sign paralyzed DT LeGrand

If the former player sees this as a nice gesture and an honor, good for him and the coach who made it happen. Personally, I'm not sure that I'd get much out of it if I were the former player.

Sturm: Considering Cowboys' alternatives to Claiborne

I really do hope Claiborne is as entertaining as Sanders. That'd be a source of fun, even if the Cowboys have yet another disappointing season. The Cowboys have finished 6-10 and 8-8 in the past two years. Some fans believe that the Cowboys have been an unusually talented mediocre team. For...
