DC comics superhero will soon "come out"

Social and romantic relationships of the character are often a part of the story. Explicit sexual activity isn't likely to be a focus, but significant others (e.g., girlfriends) are sometimes mentioned and make appearances. I read an old Daredevil a few months ago. His ex-girlfriend...

Broaddus: Free and Smith both benefit from flip

You are right. In a way, they'll be right too. With all of the change on the OL, there is going to be a learning curve. They will look especially shaky / bad early on. etc. etc.

Sturm: Leary gives Cowboys OL depth at low risk

Translation: This UFA might not suck as bad as most of the other guards that the Cowboys have under contract. The Cowboys may be forced to give him playing time, ready or not, if the other guards get hurt and/or suck even worse than anticipated.

Broaddus: Free and Smith both benefit from flip

In a normal year, flipping tackles would be seen as a fairly big deal. Smith has loads of ability and certainly should do just fine at LT, but it is a major change and it isn't unreasonable to expect it'll take him a little while to consistently play the position well. I'm a little less...

Prisco:Top 100 NFL players: No influence here, other than scouts, film

I've only seen Stafford play 4 or 5 times, but he didn't impress me all that much. Calvin Johnson is truly great and I think he makes Stafford appear to be much better than Stafford really is. ... throw the ball high and in Johnson's general direction and you've got a big play. And with the...

Broaddus: Free and Smith both benefit from flip

Maybe I was too harsh. These writers have a tough assignment this time of year -- they must write several stories a week at a time when there isn't much news worth reporting. Right. The mandatory enthusiasm thing gets on my nerves too (no matter who is perpetuating it).

Broaddus: Free and Smith both benefit from flip

No criticism to Midswat - you do us a service by posting these articles. Thanks! But what do people think about Broaddus? Does anybody here value his work or opinions? I think he's pretty awful. (which is probably why I should avoid opening threads that are clearly labeled as containing his...

Former players trying to sue the NFL can go F themselves...

Right. I think it is easy to see why the owners are worried. Whether one agrees or disagrees with the players' case, this is more than an empty, nuisance lawsuit. A part of me thinks that the owners should have made a greater effort to appease the former players last summer. But...

Former players trying to sue the NFL can go F themselves...

I do recall that Staubach sought multiple opinions regarding concussions prior to his decision to retire. As i remember it, the medical feedback Staubach received led him to retire in 1979. So over 30 years ago, in a case where a player was known to have sustained many concussions, medical...

Former players trying to sue the NFL can go F themselves...

Current owners and players could have done much better by the retired players, but didn't, despite a combination of pleas and warnings by the retired guys. So the retired guys are going for it. The risks were not well understood. There is plenty of money. I've got no problem with it.

Spagnola: Big fix in the middle of the line

That's the other point. It isn't that the Cowboys didn't have enough resources to address the interior OL and DBs simultaneously, it is how the Cowboys chose to allocate those resources. -- $30 million ($10 million guaranteed) on Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau?

Spagnola: Big fix in the middle of the line

The organization's myth: If you place a sufficient number of inadequate players in direct competition with one another, you'll end up with an adequate solution. I gotta say, I have very little faith in this approach. Competition is helpful, but it isn't magical or regularly transformational.

    Rob Ryans Van......

Well, the vehicle would have a lot of miles on it. Hard miles, too. Not highway miles. It'd be junky and not so reliable too. I can see where you are going with it, but no, I wouldn't go Prius. That car is too reliable and efficient. Rob's cardiovascular system has more question marks...
