    2015 DCU Fantasy Football League

I did autodraft. Looking forward to seeing who I got.

Schefter: Dallas trading for Christine Michael

Looks like the Cowboys are throwing a lot of spare parts at the RB position. If you have 4 RBs, do you have one? Nice that Christy is more of a power back, though. Here's hoping the Seahawks somehow squandered and misunderstood him.

Brady wins appeal. Suck it, NFL/Goodell

Could be that @nfldraftscout is correct about the $$, but not the botched investigations. So far as I could tell, the judge didn't rule on whether or not Brady was involved in a conspiracy to deflate balls. Instead, the judge said the NFL's (Goodell's) process was unfair to Brady...

Joseph Randle not at team kickoff luncheon

Speaking of which, there was way too much talk of Super Bowl success in yesterday's Kickoff Luncheon. The team has one decent year during which they win one stinking playoff game, and some folks are acting like the team is destined to win a Lombardi. That's naive.

Brady wins appeal. Suck it, NFL/Goodell

I'm not a particularly mean-spirited person, but I do enjoy seeing Goodell humiliated. Here's a link to the decision: http://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/photo/2015/09/03/0ap3000000520629.pdf?campaign=fb-nf-sf12749562-sf12749562 This seems to be a key statement in the decision: It...

Brady wins appeal. Suck it, NFL/Goodell

Goodell is the luckiest man in the world. He's an idiot, but the league has so much going for it that even he can't screw it up too much (in the short term). ... and he is paid something like 45 million a year.

Joseph Randle not at team kickoff luncheon

Yeah ... There's nothing that will change my convictions of how Jerry and Jason screwed up in the past. But I do think the present is much better. It seems that Jerry has either stepped away from much of the decision making or he's paying closer attention to better advice. Garrett did a...

    2015 Free Agency thread...

Right. That's a big reason. Another reason is basically what TE mentioned earlier. None of the Cowboys top 3 RBs have been tested enough to prove themselves unworthy of their roster spot. This franchise will not feel a need to sign another RB until or unless at least one of the current RBs...

    Cut down week thread

I think you are right - the draft was the best chance. I have a difficult time appreciating Dunbar's supposed role in this offense. Although he may be nifty in space and a potential threat catching the ball, he's not so great at pass protection. And if he isn't particularly good in pass...

That's right. Barring injury, Week 2 is the earliest that a new RB would be signed.

Star Crossed: The Story of Quincy Carter and Tony Romo

I had that same glimmer of hope. It seemed possible that Quincy would develop into something serviceable. But of course we didn't know just how unstable he was. The man had supremely poor judgement.

    Cut down week thread

This RB situation is tricky. By all reports the Cowboys really like Dunbar and have no plans to cut him. McFadden has looked good in limited action. Now isn't the time to cut him. Is Randle really so bad in pass protection that the team is willing to cut him? Seems unlikely. And if you do...

NFL Preseason Week 3: Minnesota @ Dallas

How common is it in today's NFL for a team to have quality depth across all or almost all positions?

    LOL@The Redskins

That's not at all crazy. I think it'd be a very good move, assuming it could happen for a price that didn't screw up the salary cap. It seems pretty clear that Griffin needs a change of scenery. A better OL, better receivers, better running game might just help him develop into a better...

    *** 2015 Cowboys Training Camp Thread ***

You are definitely right about him missing on previous opportunities. But who knows, maybe finally getting away from Alex Smith will help Jenkins turn his career around.

Bob Sturm: Some observations on an otherwise meaningless Cowboys-49ers game

Hanna is a on-the-line pass catching TE who the Cowboys primarily use as a blocker. ... and Hanna does pretty well in that role. Sounds a lot like Swaim's situation as a Longhorn.

Answer the question above you, 2015 NFL season edition

Manning falls off the cliff, but to a ledge that is roughly midway between the top and the bottom of the mountain. Which Cowboys defender will lead the team in interceptions?

NFL Preseason Week 2: Dallas @ San Francisco

After his video review of the SF game, Brian Broaddus says that Weems had a decent game (was much improved over the previous week) and that Bernadeau had problems.
