SO.... Here's what I would be offering Dez today.

Dez Bryant, Cowboys finalizing long-term contract 16 By Marc Sessler Around the NFL Writer Published: July 15, 2015 at 02:39 p.m. Updated: July 15, 2015 at 02:45 p.m. Take Dez Bryant to the bank. The Dallas Cowboys and their franchised-tagged star wideout are finalizing a...

Dez's contract situation may turn ugly

When you think back to his time at OSU, Dez has experienced missing games (see 2009). But, sure, what we see now from Dez is brinksmanship. Posturing. It doesn't make sense any other way. So far it hasn't been a bad thing. It's good that Romo is getting to know the other receivers. If a...

    The Cowboys Greatest Postseason Warriors

Without James Washington, a list like this in invalid. He probably should have been a Super Bowl MVP.

    The Cowboys Greatest Postseason Warriors

Larry Brown was more fortunate than clutch. James "Tripod" Washington was clutch. BB, do you have the video of Washington swinging the tripod?

Ranking the NFL coaches: Code Red No. 16

Exactly, Booze. Garrett would have to show consistency. Garrett's performance was mediocre for several seasons. He's had one strong year. He needs to put several strong seasons together before I'll be confident that he's truly good. Because it is impossible to put together several strong...

Ranking the NFL coaches: Code Red No. 16

I love how those gut wrenching, mediocre seasons are turned into a silk purse with the phrase "never had a losing season."

Ro McClain fails another pee test, suspended

That's how I remember it too. They weren't in any kind of rush to re-sign McClain. I'm sort of surprised they did. Garrett described McClain as an RKG last year, back when McClain was signed the first time. To me, he seems more like a gifted athlete who doesn't have his heart in it.

It didn't take Rick Perry long to shit the bed.

Nah, that wasn't it, really.... but remember it however you wish.

The clip went viral. That was the main problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=52&v=YVQ2IAgj8xM

It didn't take Rick Perry long to shit the bed.

He gave the speech, so some of it is on him (Dean), but much of it was the microphone (that filtered out the voices of the crowd and distorted his voice). The original coverage lacked context and accentuated / exaggerated the goofiness.

Yeah, I was reminded of Howard Dean too. I watch a recording of the scream just a day or two ago. He really got screwed.

Anyone else surprised no one else took a chance on Hardy and/or Gregory?

Not sure that PR hits to the Cowboys come at an economic cost to the Cowboys. The Vikings lost sponsors with AD's issues last year. Anyone think that would have happened in Dallas? Dallas signed Hardy and not much happened outside of initial negative press. Not sure the Vikings could have...

Cowboys' Rod Marinelli tabbed as NFL's top defensive coordinator

Wade Phillips is quite good, no doubt. The Dallas defense looks to have better talent next year. It'll be interesting to see what Marinelli can do with it.

    Dallas Cowboys Mount Rushmore

... displayed along side of those of Lance Rentzel and Rafael Septian ... Not so much on Mount Rushmore, though. Is there a Wiener Hill? Reportedly Irvin's was especially prolific. His merits a spot too.

    Dallas Cowboys Mount Rushmore

Even if the assumption is that this honor is only for players, I call bullshit and include Landry. Landry has to be on it. Staubach does too. Both are certain locks in my book. Emmitt Smith must be there as well. I think he's the next guy. After that? Lilly vs. Irvin ... I can't pick...

Street tries to make his case

If Lucky Whitehead can be a quality kickoff and punt returner, that would be great news for the team. It sounded like Greenberry had a good couple of weeks catching the ball in shorts. Too early to mean much, though.

Street tries to make his case

Sam Hurd probably is a good comparison. The thing about Street that surprised me last year was that he got as much playing time as he did. He was active for all 16 games and his snaps weren't limited to special teams. It strikes me as strange that he was on the field as much as he was...
