An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

It's a waste of time because... Spencer is the starting OLB opposite Ware, and that's not going to change for this season. The Cowboys will not sign an expensive free agent corner. They just won't do it. The improved pass rush will have to come from Ryan's schemes and improved pass rush from...

Mailbag - Is it really a good idea to send Barber packing?

MBIII would have had a hissy if anyone dared suggest he move to FB... Not that he's big enough anyway.

    Spread the ball around

There's some merit to that. Sometimes I think they go to Witten too often.

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

The entire pass defense is a sieve.

    Spread the ball around

That's the bottom line. In the past if a FB comes into the game, it's one less guy the defense has to worry about because the FB isn't getting the ball.

Where's the post where I said sign an expensive corner via free agency?

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

16th in the NFL at sacking the QB 28th in the NFL vs the pass According to your Pennsyltucky math, 28th is better than 16th?

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

Given their age differences I'd take Matthews. Considering Matthews isn't available and I don't think the Cowboys are going to sign the expensive corner, I think the debate is superfluous.

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

Statistically they have rushed the passer better than they've defended the pass. Again... Pass defense isn't just the corner position.

Ahhh... Who said that pass defense is just the job of the corners? Give me your mailing address, I'm going to Amazon you a book on understanding football.

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

They have been consistently better at rushing the passer than they have at stopping the pass. It's been that way for several seasons now. No matter what your "eyes" tell you.

    Spread the ball around

Bingo. It's been a long time since a FB was a receiving threat in the Cowboy offense.

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

The Cowboys had 59 sacks in 2008, which led the league. I hate to tell you but that's pretty good.

    Spread the ball around

I would figure that all the backs combined (RB and FB) will get 4 receptions per game, i.e. 60+ for the season.

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

The Steelers have for years have followed SBK's motto of putting average corners out there and then concentrating on amping up the pass rush to compensate. And it's worked for them. What SBK says isn't all wrong, and I agree with him to an extent. You need to hit the QB. And Pittsburgh...

    Cowboys random thoughts

Well if it's some sort of opinion based on statistical anaylsis then I'm OK with it. But many times it's just some yahwho spouting off based upon what they've "seen" without any supporting info... Sorta like you find in here from time to time. :)

An uncapped year will act as a reset for our franchise

The Cowboy defense has consistently been better rushing the passer than it's been at defending the pass for several years now. They simply aren't a very good pass defense. Last year they were 16th in sacks and 28th vs the pass. Even the year they led the league in sacks 2008? They were...
