Maybe elsewhere, but not at American Family Field. The play was ruled a legal catch because of specific stadium ground rules. The Brewers players knew the rule therefore the ball was thrown to 2nd after the catch.

Every MLB ballpark follows a combination of universal MLB ground rules and unique local ground rules that dictate how a batted ball is handled depending on where it is hit.
