Broaddus saying he thinks Styles would the Cowboys preference with Styles, Delane and Downs all available at 12 (caption says Bain too, but the actual questions doesn't mention him). Says they are very concerned about the LB spot.

If true, and we're moving up to say 6, Styles would seem to be the pick unless he is picked between 2-5

Broaddus himself says he would prefer Downs.

Delane, McCoy, Chris Johnson, Terrell, Hood, Ponds, Cisse, Stukes, Mohammed

Not sure who the 10th was, but basically all the top guys.

Brugler has him rated as a mid rd pick type player (11th rated OG) and a 4th/5th rd value.

When you read up on him and see his size, how he plays and how he tested (not much of an "athlete" he sounds a lot like TJ Bass when he came out. Bass was a similar day three type prospect that yr and regarded as a major UDFA steal for us.

I think he'll probably end up going a little earlier than people originally believed, so we might not land him. But I like Nussmeier for us.

His season last yr wasnt as good as 2024, but he played hurt and also played for a dipshit HC. We obviously know him quite well from when his dad was on our staff. (same for McCarthy in Pittsburgh, and they also need a QB).

Seems like getting to 3 or 4 would be too expensive.

I'm whole-heartedly on board with a trade up if we don't lose all our day 1 and day 2 picks (two 1sts and a late 3rd) to do it. I like the idea of 12/20 for 6/39, or 12/20 for 9/29. 12/20 and Bass for 6/24 is also an idea I like.

But if they give up both 1sts, the 3rd and other stuff to get one player and we don't get anything else back I am going to be disappointed.

Brugler's Cowboy picks (note, looks like he forgot we don't have a 2027 4th pick but we probably don't need it to get 6/39 for 12/20 anyway)

1.6 Dallas Cowboys (from CLE*): Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State

*Projected trade: Browns receive Nos. 12, 20 and a 2027 fourth-round pick; Cowboys receive Nos. 6 and 39*

The Cowboys could sit at No. 12 and have an impact defender fall to them, but it won’t be surprising if the organization gets aggressive. Styles would not only be an immediate starter at a position of need, but also wear the green dot as a rookie.

In this projected trade, the Cowboys surrender two of the first-rounders they hold this year (plus a 2027 pick), but they get back into Round 2.

2.39 Treydan Stukes, DB Arizona

3.92 Romello Height Edge Texas Tech

4.112 Chris McClellan DL Missouri

5.152 Charles Demmings CB Stephen F Austin

5.177 Alex Harkey G Oregon

5.180 Michael Trigg TE Baylor

7.218 Rene Konga DL Louisville

Don't know what other drills he did but he killed the 40.

This is the type of speed he showed in 2023 and 2024. Very high football IQ and great lockerroom leader as well.

No way should Jerry move up to 6 to take Styles. Sorry but you don't move up to that position and give up another 1st round pick unless you're moving up for a QB. Let the draft and the player fall to you. If you don't like what's available, then trade back. But no way I'm moving up that high for a LB'er.

I'm on the fence about him a little bit. He's certainly vastly more talented than anyone we have currently, or even in recent seasons. He's only played LB for two seasons, he could end up being a perennial all-pro in time.

But I also love Jacob Rodriguez and CJ Allen and we can almost assuredly get either of them at 20 or after trading down some.

But in regards to the trade up, if trading 12 and 20 nets us the early pick plus something back (for instance, Browns 6 and 39 or Chiefs 9 and 29) then I am all for it. There's almost no way we're getting one of the top defenders by waiting till our pick at 12, just too many teams ahead of us that want or badly need defensive help and there's only a few offensive players worth drafting in the top 10 or so. What I would not want us to do is LOSE picks to move up (swapping both 1's and maybe more for just 1 player)

Not a big fan of this player. Brugler has him rated as 17th best Edge and a 4th rd pick value. Doesnt offer much pass rush oomph and might be a better 3 man line DE than a true Edge.

What's the net result of that trade score wise? I guess we wouldn't consummate the trade until the target player is still there and our trade partner is on the clock.
