I would have liked an additional vet edge, vet offball linebacker and vet offensive tackle to feel reasonably confident that those 3 positions had noticeably improved from last year. So i guess I was looking for mores actual budget busting by Jerry.

But I like the back up QB and safety position improvement though.

Talk about a budget buster...LOL!
But I'm definitely interested.
They'd still be paying him the big bag. We sign him paying veterans minimum because he has to be under contract. This is what went on with Russell Wilson, and several others.

I mean, if they were in on Maxx Crosby you'd think they'd at least inquire on this too.

Garrett is actually a little older than Crosby, but he's also the #1 defensive player in the league and has 8 straight yrs of double digit sacks. Very rarely misses a game.

I really want us to keep Pickens, but honestly if his money has to be north of Lamb's I don't see how they can do it.

Trading Pickens before or during the draft might be more of an option than most of us expected.

Agreed! I don’t think we are in a position financially to keep Pickens at this point. It would be tough to award a bigger contract than CeeDee. In addition there will always be concerns about attitude and effort. If Mike Tomlin didn’t want you on his team tha says a lot. If there was a way to package him in a trade to acquire Miles Garret I would all in. All I know is Pickens better be careful of what he wishes for as he has benefited by having Dak toss him the ball. A receiver is only as good as the QB who gets him the ball. Would love to have him take a team friendly deal but with his agent I just don’t see it. If we could get some premium picks in a trade I would have to strongly consider it at this point. I still think the Jerruh and crew have some doubts about Pickens attitude and effort.

Agree with all this except the Tomlin part.

Dude is one of the most overrated coaches in the history of the league. If not for a few horrendous calls in Super Bowl v the Cards he'd be Jason Garrett.
