I am going to take flak from this but these strikes, IMO, are both illegal and immoral. Don't @ me. I also think this is the kind of action that hurts Republicans on election day. It makes us look ruthless and lawless.

In no way to I support Maduro or the drug cartels. But I believe we can stop drug trafficking by these boats without blowing them up and killing whoever is on board - and we are not certain of who is on board. What if they start loading these boats with hostages, women and children and we blow them up? Is that justified?

If we are tracking these boats then why not track them to US waters and stop then there? Our Coast Guard is very capable of dealing with these boats.

Drugs are killing Americans at an alarming rate. At some point you have to take strong action to deter this stuff. Simply arresting drug dealers on the streets isnt working.

Are people not responsible for their own actions? People who take drugs are doing so of their own free will. I am not condoning drug pushing or trafficking, but end the market for drugs and the boats will stop. The war on drugs has always focused on the sellers and it has cost trillions and hasn't worked. In the meantime we have loosened the laws for drug use. It is a contradiction. Blaming the traffickers for drug abuse is like blaming guns for gun violence.

Go ask drug dealers how many free or severely discounted "samples" they give out, especially to young people.
