I can definitely see this NOT happening. We're dealing with people who destroyed the country and rigged an election. They created an environment on J6 to incarcerate Americans en mass. I don't think these people give one shit about the country or opening it up after No Kings. They're way more invested in hating Trump and continuing to destroy the country than they are doing the business of the people.

No it is not exactly true. The directive allowed certain resources under the control of the DoD to aid domestic policing in the US but it does not explicitly allow the military to shoot protestors. Kennedy was reading into this. Posse Comitatus still prohibits military forces from enforcing domestic laws unless authorized by congress.
Keep in mind National Guard forces have in the past engaged in riot control, and even the shooting of protesters or rioters.

This is no different than the 2020 BLM riots. When the polls start to show Democrats are losing ground because of the shutdown, they will end it, just like when the BLM riots fizzled out when polls showed they were hurting Democrats.

A change was made to military directive 5240.01 in 2024 before the election, two articles I read said there is no issue but I don’t know the writers or their motivations to know if they’re correct and I don’t have time to read the directive, here’s a link to it if anyone wants to take a stab:
