So I have yet to see the Cowboys play but it sounds like the same heaping pile of crap we get served every year. I just got finished watching the Giants play and they look much improved. Right now I predict we finish last in the East. No playoffs. Giants have three bonafide QBs with Jaxon Dart likely to take over the starting position if Russ Wilson flounders or gets hurt. Ideally it would be good to let Dart ease into the position. Giants have improved a bunch. I’ll peak at the Cowboys for a few games and then I will fish every Sunday for the season. The Jerruh Jones crap show never ends. As long as he is running/ruining our team, we don’t stand a chance.
Unfortunately, it's much worse.

The only spin they have is "well it's preseason and almost none of the starters have played" but the level of how poor the rest of the team has played is just mind boggling.

Giants really may have their QB of the future.

Abdul Carter with their top pick and then move up for Jaxson Dart. Might be the moves that changes the trajectory of their team for a long time. They have some high end talent at some other key positions already in place.

He may or may not be.....only time will tell. But they're giving it a shot at the most important position on the field. They didn't shy away from being aggressive for a QB after they failed with Daniel Jones. Meanwhile, we're satisfied with Dak not because he's a franchise QB that gives the team a shot at the SB....but because he's just good enough for them to compete and keep the stands full. It's a completely different philosophy. We fail as fans but the Jones clan win all the way to the bank.

None of this surprises any of you. It's just the misery of living through it. If we went back and searched the site from years back, some folks here called it in terms of what was in our future. Al Davis was great once and then wrecked the Raiders and destroyed a once proud franchise. He was senile and running the team and then his son took over and is just as much a loon as his father was in his senile years. You folks knew back then that that was our future with Jerry and Spawn. We're here now. And the Raiders have never recovered, just like the Cowboys won't recover.....at least not in our lifetime under the current ownership. I've come to accept it.

Sad, but true

Its too bad Guyton got hurt. Thomas has filled in admirably at LT (where he was never expected to fit). Would be nice to see how he fared at RT because Steele is not good at all and a massive waste of cap space.

Not one fucking post today for game day?

Do any of our 9 members even KNOW there's a game in an hour?
I'm intentionally trying to pay less attention to the NFL in general. I truly think it has become a joke.

I am serious about this. One of my favorite shows to watch is MasterChef Australia (I stream it). I don't like the US version. The passion, the determination, the hard work, the caring, the camaraderie, the sportsmanship is all top notch. And they do it for a grand prize of 250k Australian dollars.

Dak won't roll out of bed for 250k. The NFLPA has to figure something out. I'm telling you, I try to make analogies to football sometimes in my classes, and the number of students who have a clue or care about the NFL is dwindling to a trickle.

The NFL thinks going woke is the way to entice them. Nope! Having a LB clothesline Mahomes ala Dick Butkus style is the way to do it. That's why MMA is so popular.

But I digress.

We've hit rock bottom when you have to post this as a highlight.....well done.
We are obviously all hoping that when the starters all play they will look much different. Right now, the mix is looking like pooh.

But I lack confidence in the DT position (rotation) probably more than any other position right now. And if that doesn't get fixed, then it will be a long season. Micah will wear out. The CBs will eventually get burned. The teams that can do it, like the Eagles, will run and run and run and then go over the top old school style.

Hope it looks much better with the starters. I mean it has to, right?

I think Schotty said in an interview that because he is in year one he can afford to play it close to the vest and his goal is to evaluate players in certain situations.

So there is also that spin.

Of course, playing it close to the vest can give the Cowboys a slight advantage for about 3 or 4 games until it's basically all on film anyway. It also doesn't allow any starters to actually practice a thing in game-like situations.

The Bengals have learned that lesson.

I agree! It is certainly way too soon to tell, but the Giants have hope.

I don't agree (respectfully). I agree with David that these guys look like high school players. It's more than just scheme issues in the preseason. No one schemes in the preseason. But this team doesn't look anything like a football team and that's shocking considering guys are fighting for their jobs. It's partially talent and mainly culture and the attitude is a player wide cancer.
