Since this is privately funded I won't complain about it, but $200 millions seems like a lot of money for a ballroom, doesn't it? Why is it so expensive? Seems to me a ball room should be in the single digit millions. If Trump over does it with the opulence, like he does in his own homes, I will find that tacky and inappropriate for the White House. But we'll see when it's done I guess.
apparently it's needed vast upgrading for a long, long time

200 million is a drop in the bucket compared to a couple billion is it not? And tat 200 million for Trump's deal is not coming from tax payers

I appreciate that taxpayers are not paying for it, but still why would a single ballroom renovation cost $200 million? You could build 500 $400,000 homes with that money. Remember, Trump bitched at Powell for spending $3.1 billion to fully renovate 3 entire office buildings.

Im a builder and it sounds insane but if private citizens are paying for it, I dont really care, I dont want any tax dollars going toward it, we dont need a gov ballroom imo

Yes, because that 3.1 billion is tax payers money.

Pretty sure they could have probably built three brand new buildings for less than 3.1 billion.

like what he says but the damn debt has almost doubled since this speech and the BBB extending the debt celling by another 5T, they need to get with the program in annihilating that debt
This is what Massie was complaining about and Trump threatened to primary him. I agree with you. We can't afford to just reduce the increase in spending anymore. At some point we need to start paying down the debt.

The problem is, every time Republicans attempt to cut something, other than defense, Democrats claim millions of people are going to die - and the media reinforces this nonsense. As a result, bankruptcy or hyperinflation is only a matter of time.

Not true, I’ve hired several that I know of and Pay pretty much everyone a minimum of $20 an hour. The main reason I hire these guys and so many Hispanics in general is they’re bad ass people and very hard workers plus most of the construction labor force is Hispanic in Texas. Further, I don’t see a lot gringos or other races offering to do a lot of the jobs I need done. I don’t really care who I hire as long as they do a great job, communicate well and they’re good to work with. Usually, if they have all of the above, you’re not gonna get rock bottom prices and that’s OK because it makes my life easier.

They removed vocational ed from the public schools. Eliminating skilled labor in one fail swoop.
