I golfed yesterday and DVR'd the game, really wasn't all that enthused to turn it on when I got in but did it anyway. I was expecting us to get beat something like 31-10 or something.

Much to my surprise the team didn't lay a complete egg. Rush played really well in the first half, and rebuilt OL held up pretty well and Noah Brown looks like a competent NFL WR now. CeeDee Lamb had a much better game. Defensively we failed to get the turnovers I thought we'd HAVE to get to have any sort of chance, but the pass rush for a little over half the game was overwhelming. Then the Bungles changed game-plans and quit holding the ball so long, if they hadn't Burrow might have been dead by games end. It definitely brought a smile to my face to see Lael Collins play like complete shit.

Tyler Smith is going to be a bigtime perennial probowler at LT. I still can't believe how natural he looks at it despite getting NO practice time or preseason game reps there. And so far so good on Brett Maher, who looks like he may have had a career turn-around. He kicked well for New Orleans last yr (which was completely ignored by 99% of idiotZoners when bitching left and right about him being the PK here again) and he has been money for us so far.

And he nailed both PAT's right down the middle, and every kickoff has been a touchback. (7 total I believe)

I actually thought a lot of it was the Bengals making some adjustments to what we were doing defensively.

They also did a much better job defensively on us against the run in the 2nd half, and the Schultz fumble really hurt us. Cooper Rush was really good in the first half but he did have 4 or 5 balls that could have been picked (most of them 2nd half) and I believe his last two completions of the game were balls that were actually deflected at the LOS.

Its something that needs to be watched, but after Parsons came up lame on that one play in the 2nd half he was not as dominating. He sat out for a number of plays afterward and when he was on the field definitely didn't appear as explosive.

He's gone up against two really good pass rushers his first two games, and according to PFF has yielded a total of THREE pressures.

Injuries galore again yesterday. Lamb, Schultz and Parsons all got injured. Lamb and Parsons were able to continue on but neither looked right afterward. Schultz getting MRI today on knee.
