The Rams fans have been bitching all damn season and into the playoffs about wanting to get rid of Goff!

Now the trade him for Stafford and they are all losing their minds

Most Rams fans have only been fans for a couple years. They haven’t begun to feel the pain. LOL

I DO think it's a big upgrade for LA though. Shocked by the price tag however. Shocked that detroit wanted Goff that badly.

I agree

The trade surprises me too

I knew the fans have wanted Goff gone for awhile, especially this season. But I haven’t heard a bunch of talk about the team being unhappy with him like I would expect to hear before a trade like this.

The Rams gave up so much to move up to take Goff, and now they do it again to get rid of him.

The GM seems to think he is Jerry Jones and that his job is immune to bad trade deals

And we complain about Jerry as GM and the deals he makes or doesn’t make.

It could be worse. We could have given up multiple 1st round picks to move up to get a QB only to turn around and give up 2 more 1st round picks just to get rid of him only a few short years later.

Analysis:

7 years of first round picks to end up with a QB on the back side of his career who has never achieved anything and is often hurt, and a decent corner with an attitude

Wow....just Wow. Stafford is 33 years old and on the downside of his career. That's a hefty price tag for an aging QB. Not for nothing, but I would have pulled that trigger in Dallas. Dak for Goff and a couple of first round picks.....hell yes. And not that I think that Goff is a better QB but Dak's ceiling might be the same as Goff's. I'm not sure we ever sniff the SB with Dak. I also wonder what the issues were with Goff. Couldn't read defenses? Leadership?

We don’t typically see a franchise for franchise QB swap. Both of these guys have a decent amount of money attached to them I would assume.

Does anyone know how their contracts come in to play on a trade like this?

Jared Goff, the only player in NFL history to destroy 5 1st round picks.

2 to move up to be able to draft him
1 to draft him
2 to get rid of him

He never seemed like the brightest bulb or sharpest tool in the shed to me. Even on his season of hard knocks he said a few things that made me think he can’t be that dumb can he?

Plus McVay has been spoon feeding him every single play since he came into the league until the NFL cuts his mic off pre-snap. So like you said, he’s still apparently having issues pre-snap and reading defenses.

I know the fan base out here has always dogged him for one reason or another. That’s why when you look in the stands on game day you see a ton of Donald and Gurley jerseys over Goff jerseys. Even with Gurley gone, you still see more of his jerseys over Goff.

Oops.

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to trade Carson Wentz in the coming days in what would be the latest blockbuster quarterback deal to rock the NFL, league sources tell ESPN.

The most pertinent questions now become where, when and for what. But it could happen as early as this week, per league sources, even as the Eagles continue to insist to other teams that they would be happy to bring Wentz back to Philadelphia.

The Eagles are said to be looking for, in the words of one well-placed source, "a Matthew Stafford package" in return for Wentz. The Lions traded Stafford to the Rams last weekend for a third-round pick this year, two future first-round picks and quarterback Jared Goff, the player selected directly in front of Wentz as the top two picks in the 2016 NFL draft.

Among the teams that have expressed some level of interest in Wentz are the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts, sources told ESPN, although other teams also have called to gauge the market and see what a package for the Eagles quarterback would look like.
