Exactly what most people thought the first year without Romo would be.

Of course in that case, we were FORCED to roll the dice. It didn't take any balls to do it, we HAD to. And got extremely lucky.

Our FO doesn't have the balls required, to roll that dice again and will never do it voluntarily.

Age/injury withstanding, almost no team in the league willingly throws away an established starting QB.

How do you define an established starting QB? Was Brady an established, starting QB? How about Cousins in Washington? Brees in SD? Smith in KC? Kap in SF? How about Rivers? Is a "bus" driver an established QB?

If I don't think a QB can win a SB, I move on.

I guess you missed that part of "age/injury" withstanding.

Brady is well into his 40's now is he not? And he really didnt perform all that great last yr, especially compared to previous years.

The Chargers drafted Phillip Rivers to replace Drew Brees, he was already there. They drafted Rivers in part due to long term concerns over a Brees injury situation (seemed like it was a throwing elbow thing)

The Chargers are moving on from Rivers now due to age and cap value. He too had a year where he wasnt considered as good as previous years. Rivers also hates what the Chargers did moving out of San Diego.

The only one you listed that MAYBE you have a point with his Alex Smith. I think he's comparable to Prescott as a player in some ways. However even in his case, you had a guy who had been in the league 13 years and Andy Reid had coached him directly for 4 or 5, and had seen everything he could do. That combined with his age made the Chiefs decide to get their QB of the future. Prescott has been in the league 4 yrs and McCarthy hasnt really got to coach him 1 day yet.

And please dont mention Kapernick, the dude was never a legit QB and that's why in a league in full desperation mode for quality QB play, he cant get anyone to give him a shot. He's a turd who also happens to be a terrible passer.

I agree with your last statement though, once you know a guy isnt capable to get you over the hump, you move on. I kinda doubt McCarthy has had any chance to make that decision yet although I strongly suspect if he didnt have confidence in what Prescott could do, he either wouldnt have came here at all or insisted they start thinking about alternates pretty quick.

It was Brees’ rotator cuff, he tore it and the Charges didn’t want to make him the highest paid QB with him coming off a major injury for a QB.

Oh and Kaep did get another shot, a couple actually, and he pissed on them. I don’t understand why people seem to forget that he sucked before the kneeling thing.

With the center Frederick retired, Dak aka "Dookie" is in deep poop, All teams get 7 picks and Cowboys have only 5 draft picks this year giving up 2 picks to other teams as a result of trades that were made. Should have hung the non-exclusive tag on Dookie and see what the market brings. IMO Miami would certainly give up 2 first round picks for Dookie and Should have traded Cooper for at least 2-3 picks in early rounds.
Would have certainly helped instead of 5 picks the team would potentially have 7-10 picks to fill needed help with young talent would have gone further than signing old ass has been veterans.
As usual Jerry already stuck it in and pulled out too late. Whats done is done. lets hope for the best and see how things turn out, we can all only speculate on this or that. Wish for this or that and the what if's......

The Cowboys actually do have 7 picks in this draft, not 5.

You think Dak sucks, but also think a team would give up two first round picks for him. AND pay him the mega deal he wants.

You're stupid. And sound like a 12 year-old.

Yes Dookie sucks and a non exclusive tag would settle what he is really worth. If Dookie is truly a "good" QB Jeurry would have gave him the deal long ago.

Anyone who doesn't understand the difference between non-exclusive franchise tag and exclusive tag is the stupid 12 year old. ^^^^^^

The exclusive tag amount is pretty simple to calculate. It's either an average of the five largest salaries at the offered players' position at the end of restricted free agency this season, or 120 percent of the offered player's current salary—whichever is greater.

The "non-exclusive" tag is just that; other teams can negotiate long-term contract offers with the player until July 15. If the player signs one of these offers, his original club can either match that offer, or allow the player to leave for his new club—and be compensated with two first-round draft picks from the new club.

Like I stated Jeurry wasted time and now has no leverage, the window of opportunity to use the non exclusive tag on Dookie has closed, Jeurry has to live with what he has. Jeurry stuck it in and let it marinade too long and pulled out too late. Free agent QB window has closed and only turds are still floating around. We have to live with what Jeurry has given to the masses. Good Luck BOYS.

Lets see if McCarthy can make roses out of a thorn bush

There's no contract because Jerruh wants to tie Dak up long term, but Dak wants a short contract. It's got nothing to do with what Jerruh thinks of him, or the money. But Dallas' use of the exclusive tag on him TELLS YOU what he thinks. He thinks if he exposes Dak to the open market, he will lose Dak and he doesn't want to do that. (Jerruh is exactly as stupid and infantile as you are.)

Everyone here does understand it. I was the main guy here pushing for the non-exclusive tag for Dak.

Yes Dookie sucks
Then there won't be any team giving you two first round picks for him, dumbass. Especially not Miami or any other team in position to get a QB from this draft class, on the cheap.

Judging by the type of language you use and how you interpret what I posted I would have to guess you're a 4th grade drop out and your true hobby is having your dog speed lick peanut butter off the head of your ding dong.

You sir are entertaining, I yield to you as it appears that you own the Cowboys and with out a doubt an expert on being a GM of a franchise professional team. I'm just a novel, posting wishes. By no means am I an expert or know it all.

Did you take the Blue or Red pill today, fucking chill out, LOL

Drum roll please ………….. Here it comes

Exactly like you wrote it. You think Dak sucks but also think he is worth two first round draft picks.

I'm typing this next part really slowly so even morons like you can understand it.

The ONLY reason to tag Dak with the non-exclusive tag is as a negotiating ploy. Since we know there will be no offers due to the enormous price tag which is two first round picks and the massive contract. WHEN he gets no offers we say "See kid?" And greatly lower OUR offer.

Barring hardball like that, Jerruh chose to use the exclusive tag. Because Jerry has no balls.
I'm just a novel, posting wishes.
You're just a dumbass, posting nonsense.

I've been overwhelmed with work, also bought a condo and moved in late January, and the thing has needed more work than we anticipated. I've posted a few times but not as much as normal. Hopefully can be more active again now.

Yes, most of us understand the difference in the tags.

I also explained the other day why the Cowboys didnt use the non-exclusive tag, it has to do with ensuring proper compensation. Getting two 1st rd picks sounds great unless it's two first round picks spread over two years by a team that would likely drafted in the 20's or even 30's (ie, somebody like New England)

It would be fucking stupid beyond belief to let a, young, established, fairly successful and productive QB to walk for two fucking late 1st rd picks, the 2nd of which would have the value of a 2nd rd pick in this years draft.

Your take is beyond retarded.

Who's Liz Loza? In any event, even if it's true, 35 million is what it is I guess and then we're not married to him long term. Maybe MM can do something with him. But I have a feeling we'll be gushing about his leadership some more 4 years from now.
