And I don't give a shit about the above, because any fool can look at this and see the coaching is horrendous.
There's too much talent here to be 6-7. Everybody that covers the sport agrees, and most of those people arnt just dumbass beat writers.
It's not mutually exclusive. I can say definitively that Garrett's a bad coach based on his game day/in game decision and clock management that that have been atrocious. And they've been that way for years and these were mistakes that a high school coach wouldn't make. I'm sure you agree with my point.
But this abstract idea that we're so talented is just a fan talking point, hyped up and propagated by Jerry and picked up by the media. You can't coach up Jaylon Smith. The guy is physically limited and the worst player on the field. It's sad and embarrassing tying to watch him run. I'm not trying to be critical of the man because he's overcome a serious knee injury. But he's not physically fit to play football. It's painfully obvious; great feel good story but bad football signing. Sean Lee is a shell of his former self. A guy that used to be the heart of the D, when healthy, and now he's just not quick enough to play the position. Is DLaw a franchise DL? Trrone? Armstrong? Crawford? Jones is not a shut down corner but will probably get paid in the open market. Do his 2 INT's in 5 years scream talent to you? And Jeff Heath? I rest my case.
And let's call the most important position exactly what it is. Questionable. Dak is going to get franchised but a new HC won't put his rep on Dak Prescott. If Jerry was sold on Dak, he'd be signed by now.
And what WR can carry the load? Cooper but Dak's not consistent enough to make Cooper a consistent game changer and threat. I mean, they had an UFA on Cooper last night if I'm not mistaken.
Way, way too many question marks about the talent on this team. We certainly have no depth although Troy said that we did last night. It's part of the talking points.
