I think we HAD great depth. Losing your best CB will test any team's depth.

He was playing Will last night, and some might remember I proposed that over the summer, saying Lee might make a good Will instead of Mike, and maybe stay healthy that way. Of course, I was lambasted and called nuts as usual but here we are. Lee is your Will.

I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying I'm not sold that it's so great. We really don't know yet. How can we really know? We're counting on young guys who haven't played plus a guy the Saints got rid of. Maybe they totally screwed up on that, but usually teams have good reasons for dumping players. (Aren't you a big Rob fan BTW?)

White looks like a player to me, at least athletically. Patmon did some good things last year in preseason, but he was playing behind Sterling Moore who got roasted in the playoffs. But those guys are very unproven.

Mostly I'm not sold on the starters. When I think of depth, I think of not just the deep backups, but the group as a whole.

There's NO rational argument that our secondary isn't suspect, with or without Scandrick. It IS suspect. If we get a pass rush it's automatically going to make it look better, but there's NO rational reason to believe it's worth a shit otherwise.

Ok well this post i can agree with a little more. I don’t know what happened to White with the Saints, the guy has been making plays. Patmon i am excited to see develop. He looks like Scandrick, body wise and how he plays. Carr is solid, not great but he will hold his own against guys not named Brandon Marshall. Mo is still a first rounder, guy has the skills just has to put it together. Jones will have his rookie growing pains but the kid can play too. Of all the positions i still feel ok with the corners we have. We have been in worse shape in past seasons.

He is a DUMB PLAYER. Scored something like 13 on the Wonderlic. He's stupid. This is why he gets smoked on a regular basis. He is a LIABILITY. Did people forget how terrible he is?

To be fair, Moore was playing good ball down the stretch before then.

Why do you have to be so dramatic and over the top? I don’t know Mo personally. I don’t know if he is dumb or not. Some people aren’t book smart. I have seen his interviews, he is somewhat well spoken. He is a good kid and he has fought his ass off to get back onto the field. I don’t think he has been healthy or played enough to evaluate him completely.

I think a lot of you guys are devaluing Scandrick. He wasn't simply the best of a lousy bunch. He was so versatile and he manned that slot position very well. 400 snaps without allowing a TD while switching between boundary and slot corner.

We are unsure if Patmon will be able to handle the slot admirably, let alone even adequately.

OScan's blitzing was also a big part of Marinelli's game plan. Can Patmon fill that role as well?

Secondary depth is different then CB depth. Our safeties be dragging us down.
