They played him at CB, safety and nickel LB. He missed last weeks game and a week or so of practice so they are wanting him to get work. Corey White played a lot in the 2nd half too.

You beat me to it. Also I think it's a trend now for teams to play their 1st round draft picks later/longer during the dress rehearsal or of any one preseason game.

It only makes sense; seeing how a lot of rookies hit a wall sometime midseason.

Got to get them used to the rigors of a 16 game schedule when you can.

Its not atrocious everywhere. We appear to be quite deep on the DL and pretty good at LB. I think the CB situation is good even w/o Scandrick. We are deep at G on the OL and have a good situation at TE and RB. Our top 3 at WR are as good as any team's in football.

Gregory, Crawford and DLaw since 2007. Throw in Hardy who's a FA. That's not great drafting on the DL over a 9 year span. Who are the LB'ers? Lee, of course, and then there's a FA in Ro McClain. Hitchens is a fill in and adds value but where have we done well in the draft with LBers? OL thanks to first round picks and we took a 3rd round swing tackle who's injured. And I'm not even going to discuss our "good" situation at RB and we've drafted poorly at the TE position.

To be fair; we haven't really invested much in the way of quality draft picks for the Dline.

We tend to collect most of them in the 6th/7th round.

You can't build a Dline that way.

The issue wasn't about what we drafted there, he said we had atrocious depth, which is not true at every position.

We do appear to have a really solid rotation built for the DL now. We arnt hurting at LB now even with R McClain out. We appear to be able to absorb the loss of Scandrick at CB. We have 5 starting calibar interior OL. We have capable depth at the TE position.

There are definitely areas we are thin (as I noted T, QB, Safety) but this roster is definitely deeper and more talented than it was 3 or 4 years ago, in addition to being much younger overall as well.

I'm sorry dbair, but, we have atrocious depth. The "issue" was about the myth that we've had outstanding drafts or have turn the corner.

I'm glad you liked it but I expected you would; you're one of the brightest guys on the board.

Wasn't there some poll done in the last few days that ranked the Cowboys #1 in terms of talent under the age of 25? How'd those guys get here?

you're in for a bad surprise. you could have made the case that every member save for Scandy should have been replaced, but they brought back everyone--including Heath! B. Jones hasn't embarrassed himself this pre-season, but he hasn't wowed me either. meet the 2015 Achilles heel.

I think Patmon and White have showed well, especially White. Still skeptical of Claiborne and who knows what we will get from Carr. Could be bad Carr, could be good Carr.

The pass rush is the key to the season defensively anyway.

I don't know. We've done pretty well in round 1 lately but not too well later in the draft.

I don't know why people think our corner depth is so good. Our starters aren't even very good. One has been a disaster and might continue to be one.

And same with the safeties. Do we even know who our backups are there? Heath?

Definitely concern if Wilcox or Church go down, although both Jones and White have been playing safety and CB during camp and preseason. Either of those guys could potentially play FS.

Carr was better at the end of last yr and pretty good in the playoffs too. We'll see on Claiborne. Really like Patmon and White and Jones offers a lot of versatility back there. Certainly isn't like 2011 or 2012 again.

He said outside of Dlaw, Crawford and Gregory that we haven't had good drafting at DL.

A great pass rush will help. The Cowboys do have great depth at corner, anyone who follows the team would know that. I also think having a health Sean Lee will help.

Josh Brent could have been decent --- certainly starting over Hayden, had he not fucked up.
