I'm sure this is gonna spark the AP to Dallas rumors even more now.

Fisher already out there crowing that this has nothing to do with getting Peterson, which means it probably does. Dumbass hasnt been right about a single thing this offseason.

Numerous reports out there confirming the 13 mils freed up. Reports said a "simple restructure" could have netted them about 17 mils had they chose to do that.

Pretty sure that was his second time to restructure the actual deal. He signed his BIG 119 mil deal back in March 2013 and it's been restructured every offseason since then. To my recollection. He's guaranteed 55 mil on the original deal.

I stand corrected, it was 2013

Actually I think he was just converting base salary into signing bonus, once before to help free up cap space. Seems like it was exactly this time last year.

So, this is only the second restructure.

Making room for Peterson
Like I've always thought.

What Murray eventually signed for is ridiculous. I like this move by Dallas to not cave to the big money demands. I felt the deal they offered was fair. There's really no competing with ridiculous offers.

At some point there will be salary cap hell to pay, but the future is now for the Cowboys. I'm for it. Push the chips to the center of the table and give it a go.

The team is going to suck for at least a little while after Romo retires, no matter what their salary cap situation is. Might as well make the most of the years that Romo has left.

Hello AP.

I can live with two years of salary cap hell and rebuilding if we truly go for it now. Not just talk about it, I mean sell out and going out and getting AD and some more defensive help.

Can you really push the chips in the middle when you've got red headed campo as coach ?

Absolutely.

Plus, sucking really bad after Romo retires isn't so horrible if it positions you to obtain the 1st round draft choice that it'll probably take to replace Romo.

The results may not be as good, but sure.

Wish they could have avoided this. Was pretty happy with their fiscal restraint. Maybe the detail will cheer me up because they involve romos already mentioned pay cut

@adbrandt: Romo's latest restructure gives him highest potential "dead money" in NFL history. Amount to accelerate if a separation: $46 million.
