We should never sign anyone to extensions because of MB3 and Austin. #straw
Fixed.

The meter is, we shouldn't be doing it without all due diligence.

You left Romo off your tag, for some reason. Jerruh got fucking BURNED on that one - he gives manning money for what is essentially now, a bus driver.

Can you post your top 15 WR. Mr I watch to much football?
As soon as one of you gives me one actual, factual reason why Jerruh shouldn't shop Dez around this coming offseason. Since we don't have a contract and all, and since they're now saying there won't be one until after this season.

Earlier when I said there are 20 guys who can do what Dez does, that counts current NFL rosters and also, projected draft picks of this next class.

If he is all that fucking special and great, he should be highly valuable out there in the marketplace. Should be worth a 1st and 2nd in a trade.

If I were Jerruh I would be shopping Dez around, to see what the demand is. What the market is. If someone wants to give me a #1 and a #2 for him I now know his value out there.

Now, what's his value to us, I would ask.

Nothing wrong with that, to me it is due diligence.

I agree but do you have any faith that jerri & co would even consider doing this?

No. They fall in love with their guys.

yep. its frustrating, I don't see why they wouldn't at least put out feelers like you suggested. I wish jerri would negotiate with his players as hard as he does his business deals. He's come a long way from the days when he forced emmitt to hold out.

Because we don't want to trade him. They view him as a building block for the future.

(your stupid 15 faces rolling laughing) You really believe that we could draft a rookie and he would give us Dez production? Only Calvin has more yards and TDs then Dez

You are trolling or stupid. I'm not going to argue with you all night. When it is 1 vs 15 you might be wrong.

Name the 20 WRs you said can be Dez.

None of the 15 have given even one valid argument against shopping the dude around to test the waters. Especially, not you.

And it's 2 vs 15.

We should just sign Dez to a big new deal because he's our buddy, we like him and he deserves it. #infantile

Dez is probably my favorite player, but I'd take a #1 and a #2 in a heartbeat. Having 2 firsts and 2 seconds will make your team better real quick (assuming we make good picks).

And that's the first hint of a valid argument I've seen, for not trading him. Because of the gamble of what these idiots would use the picks on.

Same idiots who drafted Dez, though. They did pretty darned good on that one.

Shopping him around though, there's no argument I've seen against that, that's valid.

Why haven't the broncos shopped Demarius Thomas? Why didn't he Saints shop Graham? Because they don't want their players to leave. Also how do you know they haven't sent out trade feelers?

I don't understand all the animosity over simply considering a trade and doing due diligence to see how the rest of the league values Dez. Building a deep roster and maximizing resources as they relate to cap costs are a huge part of success imo. I love Dez but I'd give him up if it created a deeper, more talented roster from top to bottom better equipped to go deep and win it all.

I think they should franchise him for the next one or two years given our QB situation because if they lose Romo, they're done until the find a worthy replacement and that could take years and I don't believe Dez is good enough to compensate for a lack of a franchise QB but his salary could cripple the rebuilding process, especially if he got a career ending injury

I'd say both of those teams are in win now mode and believe they are close to winning a Super Bowl so a trade wouldn't make as much sense.

We know our fearless idiot gm seems to think he's in the running for a super bowl every year but the Cowboys are clearly not so a long range goal of rebuilding might require making Dez a sacrifice for the greater good.

I do have severe reservations whether this organization can make the most out of the extra picks if they were so bold as to trade Dez

Anyways, Dez Bryant became the fastest Cowboy to reach 300 receptions. Needed 61 games to do it. Next closest were Irvin (72) and Witten (73)

That's not a defense. That is not a "show of respect." That is a attempt at intimidation. And why? Because Dez can't control himself.

You don't play pointless mind games of intimidation when you're down 13 points with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter and the other team is on a 3rd and 8. That's a legit two man press to stop Dez from getting the first down so the D can get off the field and keep the game within reach.

Because he'd be a free agent?
But, he wouldn't.

That makes it understandable right? They would much rather let another of our players get the first down, just not this Dez guy. Just like when it first started, with Bates. "We're gonna let some other Cowboy make the tackle on this kickoff." Touche'.

Is it game planning?
