Yeah, we should just release half a dozen or so core players instead. That makes sense.

We might can go 2-14, but at least the cap will fixed!

That would suck, wouldn't it? What... missing the playoffs and all?

I don't know if I could sacrifice a year for the long term health of the franchise.

I'd much rather keep the status quo and hope we catch lightening in the bottle and end up 9-7 or something. Then Jerry could mad face, put more lipstick on this pig, and listen to Jerry wink nod smile telling us to show up and watch the Cowboys kick the Giants ass!

Well, with Joe Flacco just agreeing to a deal with the Ravens, we should probably hear something on Romo.

I'm sorry but to say he was just "almost" for 5 years doesn't count for shit. Certainly doesn't earn as much money as guys who are better than "almost".

Not quite but close enough I suppose. There are differences but I generally feel that the money spent on him would be better served and do more for the team on the OL, just as I did last year.

You're right. He didn't have more rush attempts. He had significantly less and while his sacks nearly doubled, it only cost him about 8 pressures compared to 2011. Tell me you're referring to the BTB (or whatever site) article where some guy randomly predicted that Spencer would have more than 6 sacks. Aside from it being a "fuck, I hope so" situation, it's not exactly going out on any sort of limb. That guys' argument was that a sack usually occurs like 25% of the time in terms of pressures or some shit. 8 pressures essentially swaps for how many sacks at that exchange rate? Where did all the other sacks come from?

He rushed way less. Like over 100 times less which represents 25% of his 2011 total and 33% of his 2012 total. That's a shit ton less and yet he did a shit ton more.

Compare 2012 to 2010 and he has like 90 more rushes in 2010 but fewer pressures and half as many sacks.

There is no regressing to the mean. There is just better play.

As far as being right, don't tug your dick too much there. You are the hindsight guy, right? How could you ever be wrong?

Not that I even know what your stance was in the first place. Let me check my journal though, I'm sure I probably wrote it down somewhere.

Making up stats is fun!

Core players of what exactly?

We aren't going to be disassembling a Championship roster here.

dbair...who do you consider so special they can not be replaced without devastating the team? My list would include Romo, T.Smith, Dez, Lee, Carter, Ware (at least for a couple more seasons) and our starting corners. All the rest of them are average and can be replaced. All the rest can go bye, bye and our record would not be that different, but we could be in a better position down the road to build a team the right way.

While Romo and Ware and Witten are still on the team we have no business gutting it and wasting two years of their prime so we can get in a better financial situation you fuckwits. Until they're (Romo, basically is the only one who matters) we can't just blow this up and start over. We have to do the best we can to give him the best chance to win every single season. (I'M NOT ARGUING THAT WE'VE DONE A GOOD JOB OF THAT I'M JUST SAYING THAT'S HOW WE HAVE TO PLAY IT, SO SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH YOUR "YEAH HOW'S THAT BEEN WORKING OUT" RESPONSES)

Wait... so to you the end all be all is getting Romo and co. to the Super Bowl?

Tell me more. I'm listening.

What? We have a head coach who is learning on the job?

Excuse me? We have a GM who is absolutely clueless yet has complete job security?

What this shit? "Der as long as Romo QB we don't need Oline cuz hes the magic man now you see him now you don't!" -- Jerry Jones

Yeah... kindly shove that argument up your ass.

So are we 5 million under the cap including the penalties or did we just manage to reach the special Cowboys cap?

It's funny how once FA and the draft process starts up, people focus on the players and forget about coaching.

You don't get rid of all these top shelf players (Romo, Ware, Witten) until you give them one more chance with a real coach who knows what he's doing. One more underachieving year and maybe Jerry will do the right thing and make a change. Then we'll see what these guys can do- if they aren't totally used up by then. Witten is getting close.

so you just wanted to complain about things that aren't changing?

Or was your idea to gut the team, and then rely on those pieces you just idiotically complained about to rebuild it this year?

Think before you post.
