I read the thread. I've been an advocate of only not managing the cap by continually restructuring veteran contracts year after year after year.
And I agree that outside of maybe 5 players on this team, no one is irreplaceable. Which only makes the constant restructures worse. We're tying ourselves to a bunch of guys with guaranteed money.
I get what you're saying - as long as the big three are here we need to do all we can to try and win. I think that is how this team is currently operating. I think if we had a coach worth a shit, it might actually work. But since we have both a coach in over his head and a GM too god damned stupid and stubborn to step down, it's not going to work.
Do I have a surefire solution? No. I'm just a fan frustrated as fuck with this team and the idiot ownership. We're all battered women staying in a relationship with this fucking franchise hoping things'll change but come 2013 we're all going to be wearing sunglasses at the grocery story to hide the bruises.
