Everyone says that fans become armchair GMs when things are going wrong, but I think any intelligent fan can just look at franchises who are constantly succeeding and figure out that a pretty consistent formula stands out.
Having a stud QB like Romo is 60-70% of the equation. It's a shame that they've failed to fill in the other parts. When you see what Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh did--and how quickly it worked--it's pretty sad that we're sitting here listening to this "it's a process" bullshit. It's really an insult to our intelligence. Lots of fans buy into it and hop onto the "trade Romo" and "just give Garrett 16-17 more years with full offseasons and he'll show you" bandwagons. Those are the fans that Jerry relies on for his millions.
Your formula is completely correct. It might not win us a Super Bowl every season, but at least it'll help us field a competitive product that's enjoyable to root for. Right now, it's not even fun to follow this team and Sundays are definitely not entertaining.
I don't blame anyone for abandoning ship and finding other more fun things to do on Sunday. I'm not saying to start rooting for another team, but it's definitely stupid and robotic to emotionally invest yourself into a team that sucks pure donkey dick. A true fan shouldn't have to put up with ginger's orange-glowing travelling family circus act.
