We can win with Romo.
We can win with Garrett.
We CANNOT win with both.
Pick one. Upgrade the other to elite. And we can win
I agree here, Id ride with Romo and kick Garrett to the curb
We can win with Romo.

But maybe I'm just bitter now.
We're not delusional, we should be alot better because we really are a talented team. Yeah we have weaknesses, even the best teams do. We just continue to underachieve and shoot ourselves in the foot and be dumb nonstop.
So yeah it's kind of hopeless. Until that changes it doesn't really matter who we draft or pick up in free agency. So it's tough to be like "oh yeah if we get disruptive DLineman oh man we are gonna kill." No, he'll probably play well, show off his talent and we'll still be improbably mediocre.
Jerry isn't going away and he isn't going to give up power. The Parcells thing was a one time deal to get his stadium. He's even admitted since then that he was miserable during that time period.
Now he's got his new stadium and he's surrounded by yes men that he feels comfortable working with. He's making money hand over first. Gosh darn it, he's mad when they lose and he has high expectations, but we'll get 'em next time. Guess what? The team plays that way too.
Not going to change and it is incredibly depressing.
As far as coaching and Romo.....look at the Niners. They were a crap sandwich until Harbaugh showed up. Now they're a Super Bowl contender who lost a nail biter in the NFC championship with Alex freakin' Smith as their QB. So, yeah, Garrett is a huge disappointment in comparison and I'm pretty sure you can compete with Romo.
If the team (Jerry) was truly interested in being a competitor, he's step out of the way and hire a GM. Jerry could work with the GM to hire a coach and let the GM fill out the scouting staff and the coach fill out his staff. Get rid of all the Garretts and Jones that have infested the front office and let someone qualified run the show. Get rid of all the yes men (Ciskowski) and eliminate the nepotism.
I'd go find a GM from one of the better run orgs in the league. GB, Baltimore, NYG, maybe the Niners. Somebody that was a former scout that had trained under a Thompson, Newsome, Reese or Baalke. Maybe someone like Joe Horitz, Chad Alexander (Hubbard Alexander's kid), George Kokinis, Eliot Wolf, Brian Gutekunst, Brian Hampton, Marc Ross, etc.
Coaches - Ray Horton, Winston Moss, Will Muschamp, Kirby Smart, ....that is probably the more difficult one to fill. Would like someone younger, but someone who has had HC experience somewhere.
Sad thing is we'll be having this same discussion about an aging Stephen and that goofy grandson with the red headed afro in 20 years.
The only constant is Jones. Since he's been "in control," this team has been totally undisciplined. When you have a blind, perpetual optimist in an owner who also happens to be the GM, you end up with someone who's afraid to make the tough decisions. The owner side is trying to sell the team as a contender to line his pockets. The GM side can't cut players who are underperforming or who have outlived their worth, because of the perception that the team isn't a contender. You end up with extensions of players who shouldn't be extended, splashy trades and draft picks/maneuvering. It's a conflict of interest.Doesn't seem to matter who the coach is. At this point we've changed them so much and seen absolutely no change when it comes to playing DUMB football that I'm convinced this isn't something that can be fixed by a coach. No idea on how it could be fixed.
Good lord with the trade ware, witten and romo stuff.
Geez you guys your all smarter than this.
There's no way you think the set up we have right now can work.
How could it?
The setup is not any of those three's faults.
Getting rid of them won't change the setup. Nothing will.
Trade ware for two 1's and we will get Felix and Jenkins part two.
Trade romo and we don't have a qb and who knows when we will again.
Those three are cowboys until they quit. The fact that the fan base always finds fault with them is absurd.
I mean there s a ton to bitch about, those three are not part of it.
