No, I actually liked Shanahan as a HC. But to think he's some kind of QB guru is false. Elway and Young. Yeah... There's a couple guys that could have developed with Crazy Cowboy as their coordinator.

but they both excelled at exactly what shannahans offense does best.

elway was going to be great regardless, but shannahan definitely helped young. he is a great playcaller and coordinator.

Nice to see Mario Butler is doing well. Talk to me when he makes the 53 man roster.

he should be in the mix.

it would really help if he was anyway. If this team goes into the season with 5 capable cover guys we should be in fantastic shape.

I like Butler, hopefully he makes it. What happened to him last year, I don't recall?

Put an early check mark next to Wilber's name. No question he can run but can be hold up strength wise at Sam. Has has 2 good practices.

Johnson has been playing a good centerfield. No bad mistakes or busts.

Player that has shown cover ability and quickness has been Isaac Madison CB Arkansas. Has been impressive playing routes.

Wilber does look fast on tape. He needs to be physical though.

Johnson though. This kid is going to go far.

If Jenkins gets traded, Butler is going to make the team. If not, I could see them keeping 4 since the 4 (Jenkins, Scandrick, Carr, and Claiborne) are all solid CB's. Most likely, they keep 5 and Butler is safe.

Matt Johnson is potentially going to cost Barry Church or Danny McCray a roster spot. I thought the staff was really high on Church but I don't think his value is more than McCray's special team skills.

I like Butler as well. What happened to him? Well besides having the best camp of any and all DBs, and would have and should have pushed Alan Ball of the roster, but instead Ball returned that fumble for a TD in a preseason game against the Vikings, and Ball kept his spot and Butler went to PS. They are lucky nobody snagged him ala Moore.

I think Butler makes it this year, especially with Ball gone. As for Matt Johnson.. I hope he does pushes one of those guys off.

Thanks, I couldn't remember the situation with Butler last year. Wouldn't that be something if Butler makes the 53 man roster.

Claiborne, Carr, Jenkins, Butler, Scandrick would be a damn good group.

I'd hate to see any one of those guys go. If it came down to two I'd take Church and Johnson.

He was elways coordinator from early on, he was steve youngs coordinator during the years that got young into the hall.

He is a great play caller, he is a great coordinator.

if you dont like him thats fine, but to think he is not one of the better offensive minds in the league is completely naive.

Now his son, hasnt shown anything to me and if he is the one calling plays that could change things.

but its hard to bet against shannahan getting the most out of griffin.

There is a difference in being a coordinator and being a QB coach, who actually works with the QB and devlopes them. I'd credit the QB coach that developed Elway and Young moreso than Shanahan. Just like the QB coach Mariucci developed Favre under Holmgren.

Fact is, Shanahan has only won ONE playoff game post Elway, while playing in a weaker division. His good friend Bowlen, the Broncos owner was the one that cut him loose.

This is such a crock.
No it isn't. You mentioned Plummer, well he did get the most out of him. He pretty much was run out of town in Arizona. He got good years from Cutler, too. These guys aren't exactly Peyton Manning.

He was the OC for Steve Young in SF, too.

If that isn't good with QBs, what is?

I think our best chance is if Griffin doesn't have enough around him or gets hurt. And he could get hurt as skinny as he is. (Of course you can't hit the QB anymore so...)

So he was handed two all timers in Elway and Young. And Young was Walsh's hand picked baby, btw. And was under .500 with Cutler. And who exactly is exactly like Peyton Manning? Oh yeah. Elway and Young were pretty close. And trying to use him being the OC for a couple years with Young? Please. The QB coach would be working much closer to him then the OC would. Also, Young was well past his formative years. When Shanahan showed up, he'd already played a few years in the USFL, a couple with the Bucs, and 4 with the Niners. Besides, take a look at the offensive firepower that was on the Niners at the time. It's not like he was turning water into wine. And Plummer was also a decent QB, just needed out of that train wreck known as the Cardinals. The rest? A big fat FEH.

One (1) playoff win after Elway hung 'em up. Same amount as that other well known QB guru, Wade Phillips. Yep. That Mike Shanahan. The epitome of a QB genius.

These are all tweets from Broaddus...

Taylor Dever has been okay, Levy Adcock had a better day but other than those two, it has been a real struggle for this OL.

I see no reason why Hamilton can't be an OLB. Surprised how good of a feel he had for the position.

No quit in Coale. Has shown to run better routes than he did in college. He will snatch the ball. Hope he carries over. Like

Lets get to camp and put pads on before we start the Spencer and Wilber debates...I will say Wilber has not disappointed

I have been very impressed with the way that both Hamilton and Whiteside have taken to their new LBer roles. Look comfortable.

Re: Cole Beasley
Running good routes and catching well. Impressed with the way he didn't quit in practice when all the WRs were dropping out.

Re: Mario Butler
He will have a chance to win a spot on this roster because he can cover but how well he plays on teams will be a huge factor.

Hanna is a really nice athlete + today they used him more in the flex or split out to take adavantage of movement. Has hands ?s

Darrell Scott is a big man that tries to run like a little one. Nice spin move to adjust on the fly to avoid the defender. Dunbar good too.

I have been impressed with Ronald Leary and the snap he has coming off the ball. You see the defend rock back when he punches them.

Noticed (Orie) Lemon more in the morning than afternoon. Looking good this morning on special teams drills. Knows what's going on.

Hell with that. I hope this Hamilton guy beats them both out.

Should have been on the roster last year over Ball. Could have gained more experience. You'd think they would have learned their lesson with Matt Moore. They dodged a bullet with Butler though.

Beautiful. Martellius Bennett 2.0 sand the blocking.

Jerry's pet will make the team.

lol that's what I was thinking too. And sans the sociopathy.

Yeah I hit the 'd' on that when I meant to hit the 's' at the end of sans. They're right next to each other. Yeah he make not have the stupidity of Bennett, but if he cannot catch nor block... what good is he? We already havbe good receiving TEs in both Witten and Phillips. Is it too much to be able to block.

I know what you meant, I was just adding.

idk how good he's going to be, which is why he fell to the 6th round.
