Not piss you off anymore but had Dallas ran the ball on 3rd and 12 on the possession that Dez drew a penalty and the Lions used their 1st timeout two plays later..............the game ends after the turnover on downs. 1:24 left, Detroit has 1 timeout. Dallas kneels three times and goes home with a victory.

Why they would run twice and show no interest in doing anything other than killing the clock, have Detroit start using timeouts and then allow Detroit to avoid using one of those timeouts by throwing the ball on 3rd down is a fucking mystery.

1st Down: Pass/Penalty - Okay, looks like they want to get a first down to end the game.

1st Down: Rush - Oh wait, they're just gonna start running to eat the clock.

2nd Down: Rush - Yep, definitely eating the clock and Detroit knows it. 1st timeout down. 2:38 left, probably run another play here and force a 2nd timeout. No way Detroit allows the clock to hit the 2 minute warning before a possible punt. Dallas runs here, they'll definitely call a timeout.

3rd Down: Incomplete Pass: What the fuck? Why would you stop the clock for the other team? Now they have 2 timeouts, 2:30 left and the two minute warning.

Not only did Dallas give the Lions a possession that they otherwise wouldn't have had, but they gave them a shit ton of time to work with.

That's bullshit. If you run on 3rd and 12 and Detroit scores a TD bc you played it conservative Garrett is still to blame We didn't lose the game on the 3rd and 12...

Garrett sucks for sure. But that 3rd and 12 isn't why

If you're talking 3rd and 12 on the very last play where Tyron held, that play shoulda been a kneel down. Game over, Dallas wins.

Up 6 with 30-32 seconds left, no timeouts for Detroit.

This team just fucking sucks. There's nothing else to it. No matter the situation, they will lose. If we are tied or behind then Romo will fuck it up.

If we are ahead then fuckin Kiffin will play ultra conservative and fuck it up

Nobody on this team knows how to win. Period. Garrett doesn't have a fucking clue either.

He meant the series before.

While you are right, sheik. No coach in the history of football kneels there. I've never seen it done. But it is the right call.

That possession you guys are talking about, it was probably the worst thought out approach I've seen.

Start out conservative, running/wasting two downs, then once they burn timeouts, you throw the ball risking clock stoppage?

Wtf?

I didn't read any of yall's horseshit. So. Who is everyone rooting for from here on out now that Dallas has been forsaken (again). Me, I'm going with the Browns. At least they expect to lose.

Agreed that the drive was called horrendously overall. But the 3rd and 12 decision to pass wasn't the play that lost the game.

It doesn't fucking matter. This team has no clue. Blow this shitty team up already

No it's not bullshit.

For one, passing doesn't guarantee fucking anything whereas running at least forces the timeout.

Secondly, you're essentially saying that it's okay to burn the clock on 1st and 2nd down but once you are at 3rd and 12, then you have to go for a first down.

That's bullshit. If you're going to try and get a first down to seal the game, don't fucking waste 2 downs and put yourself further away by running it when you know damn well that your running game is shit.

The likelihood of converting 3rd and 12 is fucking low to begin with.

If it's 3rd and short or medium, it's entirely a different story but the success rate on long 3rd downs just doesn't justify an attempt when the possibility of an incomplete pass gives the defense a world of help.

No no no. I already said they fucked that drive up on 1st and second. I think they should have thrown on all 3 downs

It's kind of hard to play ultra aggressive in that situation when you have a QB who is notorious for fucking shit up though. Monte Kiffin isn't getting enough blame. Stafford carved through that bullshit defense so easily. Anytime we brought pressure, we had success defensively.

Monte Kiffin isn't getting enough blame.

People were sucking his dick because he finally stopped Philly's high-powered Oregon offense--the same offense the Giants had no problems stopping today.

Stafford finished with 488 yards passing as the Cowboys became the first team in the league's 93-year history to surrender 400 yards to four opposing quarterbacks.

Impressive.

Still got Rodgers and Brees to go.

Let's put this record out of reach.

Giving up two draft picks for a CB AND $51 million for the other... will get you just that.

No corner besides Deion and Revis can just lock down a WR for a whole game. The team invested big on CB's but neglected the shit out of the Safety position. This is the end result. Not too many CB's will succeed in today's NFL without occasional Safety help.

That's sad.

You put that much into one resource and have this type of result.

Alan Ball and Sterling Moore can give us these results without lost draft picks and empty dollars wasted.

He's a diamond amongst the mounds of shit this team pumps out (95% of the roster, coaching staff and front office). So are Dez, Lee and Tyron. If a meteor was coming for Valley Ranch, I'd get those guys and Marinelli out and take our chances.

LOL

Giants and other teams proved that if you build the front seven, primarily the DL, you don't need all-world CBs. Not at $51 million a pop. Being in that 3-4 defense for so long fucked us over, namely because Jerry wanted to be "innovator", by not getting a traditional/typical mammoth space-eating NT, but wanted smaller and quicker DEs and NTs. Like their speed was going to last throughout an entire game, and that they would not eventually get overpowered.
