Its simple the guard either doubles the NT or blocks the LB.

Are you really this clueless?

so on a pass play if the ILBs don't blitz the TWO guards are blocking who? Three guys on the NT?

it's not that simple. It never is. You're out of your element here.

On a typical 5 man rush from a 3-4 you will have man blocking if it's a pass play. The guards aren't going to double the NT, leaving the tackles one-on-one with the ends, and the OLBs free to blitz or be picked up by TEs/HBs, if those are even left in to block. They are going to kick out on the ends leaving the OLBs for the tackles. If there are any interior blitzers, GENERALLY those are for the QBs and RBs to handle (unless you are running a sort of slide/zone protection on that play). Typical man-blocking pass plays though you are hoping your linemen can win the 1 on 1 versus their linemen. In these protections (the most typical) your RUSH END is going to be matched up on their WEAKSIDE TACKLE almost all of the time.

Since when is a team passing on every down?

I was referring to the extra pounding he will take in the running game.

Having to stand up OT's on running downs will affect his pass rush later in games and the season.
