Glad to see you're being more optimistic.
8-8 is about all I can muster after the coach of the year had Dak spike the ball, wasting a down, and leaving Aaron Rodgers plenty of time to do us in. What, did you sleep through that?

I don't think we go 8-8 with Dak and Elliott. But I don't think we win a playoff game either.

9-7 or 10-6 one and done.

Did you sleep through the 13 wins with a rookie QB and rookie RB?

Rookie running back means nothing. RB is the easiest position to transition from college to pros. You see rookie RB's have success all the time in the league - especially when playing behind an OL a fraction as good as ours.

And regarding the rookie QB, its one thing when the QB plays like a rookie yet the coach is finding ways to win. As it was, Dak played at a level where he broke numerous rookie records, broke Tom Brady records, and was in contention for league MVP.

Cowboys to play in Hall of Fame Game, watch Jones induction

By Clarence E. Hill Jr.
chill@star-telegram.com

The Dallas Cowboys can officially set their plans for the week-long Hall of Fame party honoring owner Jerry Jones.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Thursday that the Cowboys will play the Arizona Cardinals in the annual Hall of Fame Game, set for Thursday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. at the new Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

The game will be played two days before Jones will be officially inducted as a member of the Class of 2017 on Aug. 5.

In between, Jones will hold his Hall of Fame party on Aug. 4.

It will result in an extended stay in Canton, Ohio, for the Cowboys, who will likely travel arrive on Wednesday, play the game on Thursday, have Friday off, conduct a light practice on Saturday and then fly back to training camp on Sunday.

It also means that the Cowboys have an earlier than normal start to training camp, not just because they are playing in the Hall of Fame game, but also because the game has been moved from the traditional Sunday slot, one day after the induction ceremony to Thursday, two days before.

Teams generally start training camp two weeks before the first preseason game.

It’s the Cowboys’ sixth all-time appearance Hall of Fame Game, including 1968, 1979, 1999, 2010, 2013. The past two coincided with the inductions of Emmitt Smith and Larry Allen, respectively.

Did Dak leave the team when I wasn't paying attention or something? Will he not be QB'ing the team this year?

I agree with you guys about the coaching (sucks). I also agree that RB's make the easiest transition to the NFL (although I do believe that Zeke is a special back). Like you said Dak played at a level that overcame his coaching. Is it completely out of the question that he can't do that again? This team could just as likely reach 13-3 again as they could go 8-8.

Garrett now has a entire offseason to ruin Dak, which he will. But, your faith is amazing considering we're basically 8-8 the last 20 years, and enjoyed the last 10 years with what's considered a shoo-in hall of famer QB named Romo. This team failed to win anything of any real significance, WITH Romo. You think it's gonna do it with Dak? Or anyone else really?

Well in one year Dak has already had as good a season as Romo ever has (regular season). And Romo is a shoo-in hall of fame QB?

Where did you ever get that idea? That impressive playoff resume?

As soon as I saw Hall of Fame game I knew we were fucked. 1 extra game for someone to get hurt in. We tend to wear out early in the year, every time we have to play that extra game or lose someone important during the preseason every time we have to play 5 preseason games games. It's ridiculous in this day and age of players wanting LESS preseason games to pick 2 out of 32 to have to play 1 extra one and not get rid of 1 from everyone at the very least. On the plus side... early TC!

Say what you will about Romo, but if he weren't here you'd have been wearing bags over your head to watch games. He made us relevant at the very least.

Did you miss the "what's considered" part? or just decide to ignore it? Like him or not, agree with it or not, Romo IS considered a shoo-in for the HoF.

Romo had good years, with the team finishing 8-8 anyway. What's your point?

You really believe that? Is Stafford a shoo-in too? What about Phillip Rivers? Because they're basically the same QB as Romo.

I didn't say anything about what I believe, I only spoke of what I know - most all sports writers, pundits, football show talking heads, play-by-play and color people, all say Romo's a shoo-in. I don't agree with them, never said I did. But the fact is Romo IS widely considered a shoo-in.

Those names never get mentioned.
