He didn't. He wanted to copy what New England had with Aaron Hernandez. Three 2nd round picks on second string tight ends who contribute next to nothing on this offense would get anyone else fired.

In fairness the kid does show to have pretty good hands. Not his fault Garrett is a clueless coach and couldn’t find a way to get him some mismatches. I mean at least throw him a couple of jump balls in the endzone. Escobar’s biggest weakness is his strength. Hopefully an entire offseason can help with that.

Hands don't mean crap if you run bad routes. His rounded off one cost us a chance to win in the Denver game.

Actually Tony stepping on his Olines foot causing a bad throw cost us the game.

Well at least we can all agree Escobar was a shitty pick

I dont really think we should have picked a TE there, but I do think he'll end up being a good player

He needs to be used more.

I didn't like the pick, and I think he's always going to be kind of soft. But I have to admit, he did show some very good hands at the end of last year.

Have patience boozedork, junkdork and jon88dork. Gavin is going to ball next year.

I hope so. Would love to be wrong. Doubt he does much until Witten is gone/ineffective

Linehan has tried and failed with this two TE gimmick before as well

I don't think he has to be an integral part of the offense to be a success here. If he's able to contribute anywhere from 5 to 7 TD receptions a year, that will definitely help sway the outcome of some games.

You can get that kind of production off the street + blocking ability if you make that your base package

Like I think junk said a long time ago... We could have just held on to Scott Chandler for our second TE and saved all those 2nd rounders.
