Romo is an absolute surgeon passing from playaction.

Yet our dipshit offensive guru of a head coach never thought to make it a staple in our offense.

Thank you Scott Linehan for making our offense legitimate and further neutering the red headed clapper.

People that dumb things down into scapegoat scenarios don't piss me off but they certainly make me think of one as simpleminded and lazy.

Playaction works better when you can actually run the ball with success

People that over-complicate things in a pathetic attempt to make it appear that they know more than they actually do don't piss me off, they actually provide great entertainment.

Actually it still does what you want it to do even if you don't have the greatest running game. They still gotta play the run first. However if you don't bother trying to SELL the fake, that's when it doesn't work as well.

Also it depends on the situation - they're pretty sure you're not going to run off tackle on 3rd and 20.

Midswat has a point. In past years when Romo lines up under center, they would pretty much run the ball out of that, every time. It was painfully predictable. This year, not so much. They fake it more than they have, and are getting good plays from it.

5.2 YPC for Murray last year

No doubt Garett has limited this offense ( and team) for years
Yep.

How is blaming the OC/HC for play design and play calls "scapegoating"? There's no doubt he was the one responsible.

Would you not agree the run game has been far more effective this year though? There were still times (especially the first 10 games or so) where we didn't consistently gain yards last year. This year has been far more consistent in the number of "quality" run plays IMO.

And please don't try to act like we've had this type of run success for years. Most years we'd have a couple games here or there with decent run success and consistently get stoned the rest of the time.

I believe the point was thank goodness we got Linehan to get the offense rolling because Garrett couldn't get it going by himself

The old chestnut of "we don't run play action because our running game isn't good" has been proven wrong many times. It's actually a vicious cycle type of trap. Your run game isn't as good as it could be because the defense knows your tendencies, knows you're not gonna run the fake. Therefore they key on and stuff your running plays.

The key is self scouting. Teams used to do that.

I would say it was just about as effective, just terribly under-utilized.

I love how I can make some comments and quickly identify those that are threatened and get angry when 'people try to talk smart.' As much as you appreciate education, I feel sorry for your children. I see you guys picking up Categories and having to put it down because you get so mad because the diction is more than that of a picture book.

That would be, "people WHO dumb things down."

But, who's nitpicking.

It's not about perfection. It's about being so lazy that you don't try and ridicule those that do. I'm not intractable when it comes to language.

I was referring to last year where, yanno, Murray averaged 5.3 YPC.

I was too.

The run game got better as the OL understood the scheme more, but it wasn't chewing up yards play after play like this years team was.

They also showed the short yardage improvement the other night during the Saints game. Its much better now than it has been.

It's not about perfection.
Right, it's about pretense and projection. Two things you have in abundance.

A) Pretend you're intelligent
B) Project your mental foibles on others. Examples below:

It's about being so lazy that you don't try and ridicule those that do. I'm not intractable when it comes to language.
Look at the irony of the above. You're so lazy you can't bother yourself to even try to get it right! :lol

Pretty simple really.
