As last year...you haven't seen any of it yet...but we aren't doing the same things offensively as we did last year.

You knew it when Mickey asked Romo on the sideline about the difference having Callahan be OC instead of Garrett and he said (paraphrasing), "Oh, you're going to see a lot of differences this year, things we haven't even shown yet."

Well I'll believe it when I see it. Fact is though, have to be impressed with how they did in the dress rehearsal against the Bengals.

With all the talk about Romo getting more power and the rumors about the Erhardt system and what Dez said about the new audibles, I believe it.

And of course the 4 TE set the Cowboys showed in Canton, OH is likely to make a reappearance.

I wonder if we have any secret players that we've kept hidden from everyone.

You guys realize we had the number 3 passing offense in the league last year? We score plenty of points to win. Our defense was just an open dam though so... Offense wasn't the issue.

You mean we make plenty of yards to win... Not score enough points.

I do expect that to improve this year, though.

He said on the sideline interview with Spagnola one game that Tony has developed different audibles for each of the WRs this year... Then stopped himself, saying he shouldn't say any more.

Sounds to me like this year if Tony sees a defense he thinks he can take advantage of (say a blitz leaving someone in single coverage) he can basically tell the WR what to run. So less worry about both of them seeing and reading the same thing, not being on the same page, etc... Like has happened on several INTs in Dez's direction.

All things are pointing to a different offense using Garrett's terminology. Most poignant for me is when Romo said "We are going to attack the defenses differently each week."
That's new.

Yep, not so much "take what the defense is giving us"... Which hopefully will lead to not going to Sam Hurd vs Champ Bailey twice in a row with the game on the line.

Yeah, damn that Garrett for pushing that "O" button on the Playstation controller and forcing Romo to throw only to Hurd, and avoid anyone else who might have been in the pattern.

I wonder what people will say when the results are different with Callahan calling plays.

It has the potential to be a giant fucking joke because if Dallas would have scrapped their gameplan at kickoff last year instead of at halftime shit would have been better.

Eh. If the OL is better, the results will be better. You cant block people offensively the results will never be a lot to write home about.

Right now this OL looks considerably better than anything we've had the last 2-3 seasons.

True. But Garrett's playcalling simply left a lot to be desired. I'm even willing to give him the benefit of the doubt abnd suggest that if he was up in the booth where he can get a better perspective, he might have been a better playcaller, but of course that is not practical when you are the HC.

So in my opinion, it's not just Callahan calling the plays that will be of the most impact, but actually WHERE Callahan will be making those playcalls: from up in the booth.

He said we got what we wanted on those plays.

But let me guess, when the D is better this year, it's only because we have better players, right?
