While Trump foolishly tries to make a "deal" with Islamic clerics, the clerics arm loyalist Muslims and teach them how to use arms. This is part of the consequences of giving them all this fuckin wasted time. They're not wasting it, we are.

We cannot force a regime change unless we send in ground troops and that is the line Trump will not cross. The US military is not weak. Our leaders are weak. Our people are weak. and of course politics trumps everything else.
We bombed Iraq for 100 days until we ran out of high value targets. But we could not change the government until we went in with troops and hunted down Saddam. It is no different in Iran. The plan to liberate Kuwait was the right one. Overwhelming force from air, ground and sea. Our allies will never support us again in a war like that.

I'm extremely skeptical of this MOA and think its only a matter of time until Iran, et al breaks the terms of the deal
this got me thinking surely Trump, etc know and suspect this as well...could they be doing this to get gas prices down and the appearance of normality in order to focus on winning the mid terms and then if successful in maintaining the House & Senate, they could revert back to a harsher stance including all military options when Iran inevitably breaks the terms.
I think Trump only had like 90 days to use the military without congressional approval but if Iran attacks US bases then he is no longer bound by that 90 day requirement
I haven't seen the terms of the MOA but know damn well Iran will break them or start to renegotiate them, its only a matter of time

All they have to do is wait him out. Classic Mohammed strategy. And might not have to wait that long - if the midterms are a disaster the Dimrats can hamstring Trump, totally bust the teeth out of any deal. They know this.

For about the 1200th time, it's fairly obvious the plan was for an armed Iranian people to retake the country after intense bombing started. Trump and Netanyahu both announced it publicly a couple days after the war started (something like "now is the time for the people to take back their country").
Unfortunately the weapons never got to the people. Almost every single time people don't believe what Trump says they end up eating crow. The Kruds stole the weapons, either on their own or at the encouragement of the deep staters at the CIA who arranged the transfer.
They wanted regime change but there was no way they were going to send in 10's of thousands of US and Israeli troops to remove it. It would have been a disaster politically and for each country with immense loss of life.
