Anyone who crossed Escobar, even fellow cartel members, was killed by his legion of sicarios, hired guns as young as 14, plucked straight from the hellish ghettos of Medellín. Venezuelas currency has crashed and people are desperate, what seems like nothing to us is huge for poor uneducated and desperate folks, much like the sicarios in Columbia. This in no way excuses their actions and I'm sure their aware of what the US is doing and choose to take tat risk but it doesnt take out the real problem either
